It was only supposed to be a light storyline to allow some comedy and character stuff
Of course the papers blow it out of all proportion and people therefore are disapointed when it doesn't blow half the street up.

I wasnt disappointed when the street didnt blow up - that would have been far too Brookie (and as others have pointed out we all know what happened to Brookside!)

I was just disappointed overall but last nights episodes - I expected better from Jonathan Harvey.

So that's what the Real Rovers Return looks like inside, very small indeed.

Looks more like a real up to date pub.

The inside of the mock Rovers Return seen here, that originally formed part of the Granada Studios Tour, is actually
quite a lot bigger than the inside of the Rovers Return on the Corrie outdoor set. Back in the later days of GST, the
inside of the external Rovers Return set, (when the Corrie set wasn't in use for recording the show) was used for
the part of the tour, where visitors could have their own personal mini episode of Corrie made.

I was in there on my last ever visit to GST, and it was (and still is) very tiny inside. It was totally disproportionate
and much smaller than the internal Rovers Return set we usually see on screen. I'd say roughly half the size!

It must be time for them to redecorate the on-screen one - the pic shows how the same character can be retained. If you look closely (on the on-screen set), you can see where wallpaper has been patched up and it looks really grubby and battered - which it would be in real life, but hey, it's 21 years old!!! There must be a storyline in Liz getting in - and off with- a decorator lol!

Indeed - the set designers have already given a new lick of paint to the exterior of the pub, why not to the interior?

Yes 21 years must be a record. Even before then in the 1970s they changed the wallpaper at least every 4-5 years or so!

Talking of Liz I read this spoiler

She gets a new bloke next week according to the tv guides, so this could mean the end of Vernon!

Please please please please.....

Although I enjoyed Monday's episodes, Jack's pint remained at the same level for the whole episode... even Jack couldn't make a pint last that long!

I'd like to see the pub revamped actually. I mean not drastically but the decor is just very dated right now.

Perhaps a fire could kill off some dead wood and co-incide with updated images on the opening titles.
