Fair enough, some characters could have had excuses not to be on the street, but most would have been back well before the alert was over. I find it hard to believe just how so many of the cast were unaccounted for. Also why use a bomb as just a 2 episode disruption to knock off the head of a garden knome when an explosion could have created some dramatic cast exits.

However for comedy value, which is one thing corrie nearly always seem to pull of, there were many amusing scenes.

I wouldn't have minded seeing Ashley and Claire blown to the other side of Whit Week Walk.

Is it just me or are they increasingly tedious and add little to the programme these days? Ashley always used to be quite good alongside Fred, but I'm finding the pair of them increasingly boring, and the prospect of a storyline developing out of Claire's telephone counselling hardly gets the juices flowing.

So where did Josh, Beth, Rosie, Ryan and Amber go after school, I guess Amy was with her absent grandparents and great gran mother. (just remembered Violet and Adam as well)

Can't corry afford to have the whole cast in for such an episode. Eastenders seem to manage it and so did Brookside.

With child actors there are strict rules to how many times they can work in a year. So unless they are a significant part of the storyline it's not worth wasting that time.

Brookside would have let the bomb go off too!

Shame Tracy didn't bury Charlie in Clair and Ashleys backgarden. Then they find the bomb, blow it up and discover human remains near it.

Too late now though Razz

I'm doubt even Brookside would've gone that far. Except maybe in the late night episodes towards the end of it's run!

I have to agree with that. Overlooking the UxB that was only a few feet under the turf, there were some good comedy lines/scenes last night-- even with Sean (I think I'm the only one who likes him here Embarassed )

We had Kirk's and Tyrone's "Purdy Gates" exchange with Jamie. Rita's and Doreen's flashbacks to the war. Paul frustration at the community centre. Jamie saying: "If I were in Michelle's shoes..." "...you'd have lovely calves" interrupted Sean. Steve saying that if Tracey were on a counselling helpline, she would advise the caller to murder the abusive boyfriend.

Or maybe I just have a low threshold for droll humour Laughing The bomb could have been used to kill Vernon-- he could have been fatally struck by a piece of Mr Grumps the gnome Wink

Through both episodes last night, the only storyline to develop was the Sean/Sonny/Michelle love triange, other than that nothing of any consequence actually happened - unless they make a storyline out of Ashley and Clare tidying up their garden Wink.

And we all know what happened to Brookside, don't we...

It was only supposed to be a light storyline to allow some comedy and character stuff
Of course the papers blow it out of all proportion and people therefore are disapointed when it doesn't blow half the street up.

There are other ways to do light comedy though. It was a bit OTT.

some unexplained absences though. Ken, Deirdre, Blanche, Emily, Cilla, Yarna, Vera, Molly and Bill (Liam and sally suddenly appeared back in the factory weren't at the community centre)

Thats the disadvantage of having such a huge cast.
