Noticed an unusual transition in Friday's Corrie:

According to The Sun, Jenny Platt is going to quit Corrie at the end of her contract as she feels 'there's nowhere else for her character to go.'

She is CRIMINALLY underused and I don't blame her for quitting. The fools that are the producers have given her nothing to do apart from mope and the pregnancy storyline. IMO she was best with Jason, it didn't feel right with Jamie, but she could have had a family, I feel she was that strong.

Another one quits then. First Wendi Peters, then last week it was Sean Gallagher, now Jenny Platt.

I cant say I blame her for quitting, as you said she hasnt been given many good storylines. Violet was such a bubbly and likeable character when she first arrived, she showed great potential of being a classic Corrie character but they have had nothing but bad things happen to her and turned the character into another victim like Shelly.

I too liked Jason and Violet together as a couple and her and Jamie together always seemed kind of false really.

It actually infuriates me. Apparently her contract runs out in March 2008, hopefully the producers can change her mind and give her some brilliant storylines. Not holding out hope.

It annoys me as she's literally done nothing, had no life. Every single last character should have a storyline, however small, going on.

CORONATION Street beauty Jenny Platt is sensationally quitting the TV soap, The People can reveal.

The stunning actress, who plays barmaid Violet Wilson, is one of the ITV soap's most popular characters.

But after three successful years, she took the "agonising" decision because she fears there is "nowhere for her character to go".

Asource close to 27-year-old Jenny said: "It has been a really hard choice because she has loved every minute of her time on Corrie.

"Jenny will be very sad to leave and she has spent a long time agonising over whether to stay.

"But nowshe feels there isn't really anywhere left for her character to go.

"She's loved playing Violet but doesn't see how the writers can develop her storylines any further.

"Jenny has made it known she has other acting plans that she wants to pursue after Corrie."

Violet has had a string of failed romances but thought she'd found the real thing when she moved in with Jamie Baldwin (Rupert Hill).

But that ended in heartbreak because he was in love with his step-mum Frankie (Debra Stephenson). Shocked Violet then found out she was pregnant - only to lose the baby.

Jenny plans to quit when her contract runs out next March. Our source said: "Hopefully she'll be in for a bit of happiness before she leaves."

Hope its true what they say about her having some happiness.

The thing with Violet is they've always said she's had a troubled history - but never explored it. The only thing we've had from her past is her friendship with Sean.

Another character wasted. The producers are absolutely useless. Jenny is a fantastic actress. Who the hell cares about the likes of Sean and Kelly? She has been criminally underused. I'm so close to giving up on this show.

So his pilot chat show flopped.

Might be a Minder re-make, but thats just rumours.

Also for coming back it might be for the as mentioned above, he is leaving in the summer.

Also he will be returning for just 3 months, I hope this lasts longer !
