Well it is at the back of the Coronation Street
Speaking of which: According to the Times the other day, the real Coronation Street (the one the TV version was reputedly based) has been saved from the bulldozers.
There were plans that Coronation St in Salford was to be demolished as part of redevelopments in the city, but it has been protected owing to its links with the show. It is also where the famous Salford Boys Club is located, of The Smiths fame-- I think that's a listed building now?
Maybe a Salfordian could clear up the details for us
I'm not a Salfordian, but it's widely accepted that Coronation Street was based on Archie Street in Ordsall, which was demolished in the early 70s.
