Anyone notice they have mentioned the science museum two nights running in Corrie?

Well it is at the back of the Coronation Street Wink

Speaking of which: According to the Times the other day, the real Coronation Street (the one the TV version was reputedly based) has been saved from the bulldozers.

There were plans that Coronation St in Salford was to be demolished as part of redevelopments in the city, but it has been protected owing to its links with the show. It is also where the famous Salford Boys Club is located, of The Smiths fame-- I think that's a listed building now?

Maybe a Salfordian could clear up the details for us Cool

I'm not a Salfordian, but it's widely accepted that Coronation Street was based on Archie Street in Ordsall, which was demolished in the early 70s.

Quote:
Corrie hots up as cabbie Lloyd Mullaney becomes an instant hero rescuing Becky Granger from a fire at Roy's cafe.

Lloyd (Craig Charles) races to the aid of waitress Becky (Katherine Kelly) after the diner is set ablaze. Roy (David Nielson) and wife Hayley (Julie Hesmonhalgh) are lucky to survive.

But one big name is set to die in Friday's episode on ITV1.

So who's getting killed off? I've not heard of anyone leaving.

I guess the "big name" is probably "Roy's Rolls"

Exactly, which is why im wondering if the museum are having some free publicity but Corrie gets free publicity by everyone who visits there due to the set being visable from the upstairs windows! They even mentioned on Corrie that entry to the museum was free.

Anyway, Whats On TV have a Corrie cover again for next week. This is the 3rd Corrie Cover in the last 4 weeks.

Maybe they will go really mad and have an Emmerdale cover

I know people don't talk Emmerdale because Jez doesn't watch it, but their figures have only been a million or so behind EastEnders' recently

They're that far behind? Rolling Eyes

Ditched Emmerdale when E4 came to Freeview with first look Hollyoaks, which is the only soap I follow with any sort of regularity lately.

Corrie's even struggling to hold my attention now - generally the case if there is an alternative worth watching I'll watch it - at the moment that being the last half hour of The Crystal Maze on FTN!

No you are wrong - people dont talk about it because this is a Corrie thread. You are quite correct though about me not watching it, I think its boring. Smile

Emmerdale push the boat out once every few months for a special episode - apart from that, it's rather dire.

As Jez said though, this is a thread for the Street so... yeah.
