I can't believe Maggie Jones is 89 (or 87 according to Wikipedia), that really seems too unreal. She could easily pass for someone in her 70s.

She's great, nobody on the Street can deliver a put-down like Blanche. I haven't heard the imortal line "in my day (that wouldn't have happened)" recently I reckon that Noris and Blanche should get together.

I dont think Blanche is anywhere near 89 in real life. Maggie Jones keeps her age a secret. Betty Driver is the oldest at 86 (87 in May)

The charactere of Blanche is meant to be about 71.

Well, she did play Mark McManus' grandmother in 'Sam' in the early seventies, and he'd be 71 if he was still alive.

Looking at old episodes of Corrie from around 30 years ago Maggie Jones looks to be in her 40s, so im still not convinced she is 89!

I also love Blanche. She always says what everyone else would only dare to think. Excellent writing and even better played by Maggie Jones.

I'm getting really tired of Kelly - the over-acting is even over shadowing Dev at the moment!

Funny watching those clips from 30 years ago. It seemed Corset-maker Blanche had a much kinder and considerate nature.
