That David deserves a clip around the ear for telling porkies! I see the new neighbours from hell has arrived. Pale

It's been confirmed "Sinbad" from Brookside will be the dad of the new family. "Neighbours from hell" though? how original. Rolling Eyes Why is it there are only 2 types of families who join soaps. "Neighbours from hell" or the "family with a dark secret". Rolling Eyes

I thought the battersbys were the neighbours from hell?

then again judging by the miden they live in I bet hell's a palace

The script writers were being a bit topical with Dev taking offence at the old boy calling him Chief

Noticed David was gesticulating with his left hand whilst talking to the police about Charlie grabbing the knife, now is David naturally left handed or is jack? (the actor)

To be honest I've never noticed if anybody is left handed on Corrie, guess if the actor is then the character is as well. Must cause confusion when they change the actor playing the Character.

I hardly think it's a major issue. Does anybody really notice that kind of stuff?

Aeeee? I think the point I was making is being missed Laughing

When the detectives were at the crime scene they were acting out what might have happened. They remarked that the hand Charlie was "holding" the knife in (right), didn't correspond incorrectly to which side Tracey's knife wounds were on.

Some people also have speculated as to whether Charlie been left-handed, because Tracey placed the knife in his right hand (or vice versa Confused )

I wonder what has happened to Michael Starke's character in The Royal , Ken?

I assume the return of Bill Webster and a new builder being required aren't just a coincidence then!

If charlie had attacted her left handed she would have injured her right hand in self defence.

Tracey put the knife in charlies' left hand and stabbed her own left hand Confused

great continuity tonight, Deirdre leaves tracy in Number 6, she look in the drawers around the music centre, pockets something and David appears. Tracey asks if anybody saw him and he says no Confused

Deirdre must have got across the road and into number 1 pretty bloody quickly then as David managed to slip in unoticed in less that a minute.

And wasn't it kind of Deirdre to leave the front door on the latch for him

Wow thats really excellent. Shame though it only gets that high ratings when the storylines are hyped up.

I wonder if we'll ever see an episode (of any programme) get anywhere near to the 20m mark again.

What are Corrie's highest ever figures?

26 million is the highest I think.

Just checked and Hilda Ogden's final episode in 1987 is the highest rated episode of all time with almost 27 million viewers.

Wont get anywhere near that amount ever again.

Certainly not, those days are long gone, but it's quite an achievement to beat last years most watched episode, especially since we've seen that ratings are falling year on year - Corrie seems to have bucked the trend at least with it's most watched episode. It ties with Vicar of Dibley for most watched episode of the year then, both officially got 13.08 million viewers.

In other unrelated news, Tesco is in the running to become Corrie's new sponsor:
