I'm sorry but I was laughing my head off watching those episodes, it felt like comedy rather than serious. Anyone notice how Norris plugged CSI Laughing

Don't apologise - it was hilarious and absolutely a classic pair of episodes as a result! Only Corrie could turn a murder into comedy (like they did before with the panto Richard Hillman plot!). The mix of the drama with the perfectly crafted comedy was spot-on - particularly the scene with Reet finding Norris working out how much Charlie and Tracy owed for their newspapers! And the end was just great too as Trace was told that Charlie was still alive Laughing

Compare this to the OTT hammy "drama" of the Emmerdale murder (that I had to endure because I was at my parent's place) and think how depressing it would have been on EE. The joy of Corrie is that blend of comedy and high drama - last night's two episodes had it all an set's the show apart from all the others. I don't think it was supposed to be serious!

Even my partner (a very casual viewer on the occasions when our tea's ready at 7.30) watched them both and said he'd really enjoyed them and could really see the quality of the writing.

As you can tell, I enjoyed it last night Laughing

Well said, I totally agree with you. These episodes shows that Corrie is far ahead of its rivals. They had better had win that Bafta this year. Smile

The statue was amusing, I'd never seen it before in that house, I assume it was meant to be a recent purchase to enable Tracey to do the deed.

Great episodes, and I loved how all the Street reacted. Clearly, Jason and Maria think it's all a bit dodgy.

I wonder how it all falls apart for Tracey then, I'm assuming that because she's leaving her manipulation will be exposed and she'll end up going down.

Ive just seen that trailer again, although they are mostly showing scenes we have already seen so wont spoil Monday's episodes too much!

Any news on the ratings for last night?

Probably best they don't - someone could end up using it as a weapon! Rolling Eyes

biffed by a bafta. Very Happy

maybe it was an award for the most unconvincing head wound in a soap.

Tracey swung to her left which would have hit him on the left side of his head and he fell to his right yet the wound suggested she swung to her right and hit him on the front of his head

They do deserve to win something though for this excellent episode. Wink

I think the Christmas Day episode though was probably better, certainly at representing what Corrie is really about.

Awards - EastEnders winning things they don't deserve in the last few years have just made them all null and void really!

Yes, they certainly do. They have been on top form recently - I couldn't help but laugh at Norris' comment about CSI!

Well the BAFTA only takes into account the previous year although I do think Corrie had a good 2006, much better than 2005 anyway.

Just remembered the bit where Tracey said, "I had to hit him twice - do you think that'll matter?" Laughing

As I'm not a regular Viewer of Corrie and watching it last night could someone tell me if Charlie was Right handed or Left handed?
