Apart from Ken who is still there, Albert was the last of the original cast to leave, beating Elsie Tanner by a few weeks/months I think.

Anyone see GMTV this morning? Kate Ford was interviewed live from the Rovers Return (not the real one but the fake one!) and she showed us the murder weapon!

They also showed 2 clips - one of which was Tracy in court next Wednesday.

As Kate was in Manchester she must still be filming so at least we have a while before she leaves.

I'm going to miss Kate a lot when she departs.

What about Emily? Or was she not in the first episode?

On another note we never really get any off screen interviews with Eileen Derbyshire or anything. I take it shes always been a severely private person. Jez?

Hope she had wiped the blood off it Wink

Did she mention what her future plans were? Did she rule out/not rule out a return to the Street? The trial is going to be gripping, I reckon there will be a twist in it somewhere.

I think Emily joined sometime in 1961, not long after the show had started IIRC. I'm sure Jez will tell us, he is the font of all knowledge-- I shall bow to his superior wisdom Very Happy

Didn't really think about this until I saw it in the paper this morning - but it's all happening at THAT house again!

It's probably about the same location where Ernest Bishop was killed too.

So how many murders has Corrie now had?

That's it, I'm missing my dictionary Wink

Guess number 6 or 4 is roughly where Ernie Bishop was shot in the factory. Remember Mavis upsetting Emily by having number 4 used on a ghost hunt unaware they were using Ernest's murder

Emily (then credited as Miss Nugent) made her first appearance in episode 15 or 16 - I forget the exact number but it was January 1961. Miss Nugent actually appeared in episode 3 or 4 but didnt have any lines and the woman playing her wasnt Eileen Derbyshire.

The original cast consisted of (date they left in brackets)

Ken Barlow (still there)
Albert Tatlock (1984)
Elsie Tanner (left 1973, returned in 1976, left again in 1984)
Annie Walker (1983)
Ena Sharples (1980)
Minnie Caldwell (1976)
Lucille Hewitt (1974)
Jack Walker (1970)
David Barlow (about 1968)
Dennie Tanner (1967)
Concepta Hewitt (1965 as a regular, made visits until about 1975)
Harry Hewitt (1965 returned for visit in 1967)
Florrie Lindley (about 1965)
Frank Barlow (1964)
Martha Longhurst (1964)
Christine Hardman (1963)
Linda Cheveski (left in 1961 as a regular cast member but made return visits up until 1984)
Ivan Cheveski (1961)
Ida Barlow (1961)

Think thats all of them;

As for Eileen Derbyshire, she has never given any interviews or replied to fan mail or anything like that as far as I know. Ive never tried writing to her as to be honest I dont really like Emily that much these days, I preferred her in the old episodes. Now she is annoying. I think she is a very private person.

No she didnt mention any future plans. I expect she will turn up in Heartbeat/Holby/The Bill in a guest role before long. Maybe she will get some drama roles like Suranne did.

LOL well font of all knowledge to do with just Corrie maybe Wink

You are quite right - Ernie's murder took place on the site of Number 4.

Ah but Tommy's murder took place in the garage rather than number 6.
