David's script was excelent, not just delivering the punchlines but what he did as well, offering more sprouts after reading about his planned abortion, lighiting the brandy on the pud after asking bill who he was sleeping with and playing jinglebells on the novelty antlers after slagging off his mum. just brilliant. Very Happy

Now we know why bethany wasn't in the Christmas dinner photo, she'd fell asleep. typical soap ploy to get the child out of the way whilst they discuss adult issues.

It would have been more amusing to have her playing with her toys whilst the adults argue and then start singing some cute song which shuts everybody up.

LOL! I had to endure Emmerdale too as its my mum's fave, but I didnt mind, it was ok but seemed to drag on a lot longer than the hour of Corrie did. I didnt look at the clock once during Corrie, but did a lot during the hour of Emmerdale. My dad complained because Emmerdale went to another break at 19.52 so I had to explain that they probabaly wanted to show the ads during rather than after Emmerdale so they could go into Corrie without people switching over. And I was right as they went to a trailer then straight into Corrie.

I loved that line from Sally as well - and Audrey's reply. Also liked it when Claire came into the garden and asked them if they were having a nice Christmas and Gail said "oh not bad!" Smile

And this was a Charlie and Tracy free episode so they dont have to involve all the major characters/storylines to make a good Christmas episode.

I got the Corrie DVD game, and my sister got me a Corrie alarm clock so I can wake up to the Corrie theme tune now on a cold dark winter's morning! Laughing

I'm not sure I could wake to the Corrie theme tune everyday! Where did she find that for you?! Is the DVD game any good? I might go and get it.

My Dad (who used to be the biggest Emmerdale fan) tried to trick my mum and sister into watching something else and when they realised he was sent to the kitchen with his pipe! My partner had to sit through all 2 hrs of the two soaps though.... he wasn't best pleased Laughing

No idea. It was made in 1998 so she probabaly bid for it on ebay or somewhere. It was just an extra present but she said she wanted to see my face when I opened it which made me look worried!

Been playing the Corrie DVD - its quite good. A mix of questions from the 60s, 70s, 80s, 90s and 00s id say. All are multi choice and you can play alone or with up to 3 other people. There is also a superfan section with some quite hard questions. You need a good memory! Some questions have clips as well.

I have noticed though that some questions are being repeated yet it says there are 100s on there!

I totally agree, David's lines were fantastic, cheeky devil child. Looking forward to the New Year especially with the Audrey/Bill/Maureen storyline. Razz

Christmas Corrie was a breathe of fresh air. Very Happy

But wait... where was Bethany during Christmas dinner? Confused

Bethany is rather quiet for a 6 year old dont you think? Even David commented on it in the Christmas Day episode!

here's my theory into Bethany's vow of silence.

The twins who play her, Amy and Emily Walton are 6 years old and children of that age tend to loose teeth. Unfortunatly even identical twins don't loose the same teeth at the same time and they use both twins in different scenes.

So if Bethany was speaking you'd see different teeth missing depending on whether it was Amy or Emily in that scene.

That's my theory on is why she's quite

Agreed. I can't believe that Coro was beaten by Deadenders in the ratings. A miserable po-faced character snuffs it surrounded by other indentikit wretched characters. Merry Christmas to you too Eastenders Rolling Eyes

I loved the Noris/Rita/Emily and Duckworth exchanges ("my little nutcracker"). Platt/Webster scenes stole the show though, including a high-brow reference to post-modernism by David 'Damien' Platt! You would get intelligent and witty writing like that in EE Laughing

This evenings episode was a bit quieter with the Grimshaw baby being the main story.

Liked it when Eileen was at the Barlows with Blanche and asked the baby if the wicked witch of the west had made her cry Laughing

wonder if she ad-libbed that one.

That scene with Blanche and Eileen was good - I like this storyline with the Grimshaws.

Liked the scenes with Audrey and Gail as well.

Coronation St outclassed most of what was on tv on Christmas day with clever writing and good directing.

Very, very good indeed.

Well the tv guides for the week after next are on sale and almost all have Corrie covers for the big murder

Its still unclear whether the murder takes place on the 12th or 15th. The TV mags hint it 12th but it says Charlie is taken away in an ambulance so im wondering if Tracy kills him the following Monday?

Looking forward to Danny's appearance, even though its brief, on New Years Eve!
