That was Jack Duckworth first appearance in that clip.

Another clip here with Deirdre from 1977. I thought Anne Kirkbride was fantastic in this storyline when I saw it on Granada Plus repeats. Wish they would give her a decent storyline now

Poor Deirdre, I honestly wish ITV would air classic episodes again.

Me too however apart from the occasional episode like when Mike Baldwin left they probabaly wont.

The aftermath of that storyline was good - she was so distressed she contemplated suicide and was going to jump off a bridge until a lorry driver stopped to ask for directions!

I think this was one of my earliest unprompted Corrie memories - I would only have been 5 or 6 when it was shown!

LOL! I wasnt even born then, I started watching about 10 years after you. I remember Hilda Ogden being in it, it was nice for Vera to mention both Hilda and Ivy the other night- I wonder how many viewers know who they are now?

Im glad that Plus did a rerun as I got to see it all from 1976 onwards. The DVD Box sets were excellent but there are too many episodes to do a complete rerun.

I wasn't born till 1970 so missed the first 10 years anyway. my earliest memory is probably the factory fire before it became Baldwin's casuals and my dad remarking on how tiny the street looked wth two fire engines in it. don't know what year that was though.

I think that was 1975 - that episode was in the DVD set.

If we're talking earliest Corrie memories - mine has to be Reg Holdsworth's first appearance, Gail and Carmel the nanny and Derek's gnomes.

No. Watched from about 1986/7 on ITV and still watching now. Also watched all of what Granada Plus showed. Also got the DVD releases.

the scene I mentioned is not on your tube (yet) I must have been 4 or 5 when that was televised.

I think my earliest memory is from around 1982/83 when Betty Turpin was mugged.

It was very strange when the storyline came up again on the Granada Plus repeats, knowing what was about to happen from my memories aged about 6.

I found that that strange too when they got to about 1887/88/89 I remembered some of the scenes from those episodes from when I was very young.

I checked the the fire at the Warehouse happened in October 1975.

My earliest memory of the Street would have to be seeing Elsie Tanner and Ena Sharples sitting in Elsie's house around 1980. I believe that was just before Ena left. I also recall Elsie falling asleep with a cigarette in her house; I think Hilda Ogden managed to "sound the alarm" and help get her out.
