Any film that makes a 1990s teenager a plausible Mamma Cass fanatic must have something going for it, too.
A very gently poignant film (IMHO).
As for The Street, well ....

lol, I don't go to the movies that often - but I think if it's possible for you to leave your cynical views of the world aside for a while you might just enjoy it.
Why is it my favourite movie? Because no matter how many times I see it, it makes me smile. No other reason.

Tonights episode, the 10pm one was alright i suppose, but i must point out, being from Manchester, that there is no market in Levenshulme, anyway, Fred was brilliant, his face went as white as a sheet, even though i think that story could have run on for much longer then it did, quite poor, corrie writers have a tendancy to cut good stories short, the fight at the end was rubbish, the day nick leaves the street, will be a very happy day indeed, to posh for weatherfield thank you very much. Good acting from Todd, too many episodes though, none on wednesday, TWO on Friday! I was glad that they didn't take advantage of the watershed and use language or comments that you wouldn't use before 9pm, wouldn't be the same.

A good 3 eps of Corrie tonight! Gail and Eileen were funny indeed. I also loved it when Fred shouted at "Orchid" and Dennis:
Fred: But you're nowt but a common tart! And you! You're a filthy pimp!
Some lines later...
Fred: I don't want to see hide nor hear o' you ever again!
Dennis: We fooled him!
Stacy: Shurrup Dennis! (cue slap)

Corrie crowned king of soaps
A triple bill of Coronation Street culminating in young lover Todd Grimshaw telling his fiancee he was gay pulled in nearly 13 million viewers last night and clinched ITV's position as king in the battle of the soaps.
With the BBC still trying to come to terms with EastEnders' record low of 6.4 million viewers last week, Coronation Street appears to be running from strength to strength.
The three episodes of Coronation Street, which followed Todd's revelations to his pregnant fiancee Sarah Louise Platt, averaged 12.2 million at 7.30pm, 12.2 million at 8.30pm and 11.5 million at 10pm - an average audience share across the three instalments of 54%.
BBC1 bosses have suffered plenty of "Black Wednesdays" in the ratings in recent months and even a few "Black Tuesdays". Now they've got a "Black Monday" to add to the collection, as ITV pulled out its big guns for the start of the summer season.
BBC1 wilted in the face of the soap, with 2.3 million viewers for current affairs strand Real Story, 3.3 million for long-running makeover show Changing Rooms, and 3.9 million for the news at 10pm

Well I've watched the episode that's just been on... very uneventful really apart from the tussle at the end. Lots of stereotypes tonight including the Platt family rattling on about aids. A shame how Jason has turned against Todd too.

I only heard Gail mention that it would be wise for Sarah to take the test. Not surprising, or even shocking. Actually very sensible in the circumstances.

I agree, we dont know if Karl and Todd had safe sex so Sarah having a HIV test is sensible.
Anyway, it was great to see Whats on TV have a Coronation Street cover this week with Tina O Brien (about time too!) And TV Choice/TV Quick have Corrie covers too!
