It would be more realistic with the cars on the street, eastenders is the same with cars appearing when and only when they are needed. Brookside seemed to be the only soap where the cars were where you'd expect them to be, outside the houses

Maybe because Brookside was a real street not a tv set like Corrie. On Corrie they dont have room for them!

Who on the street actually have their own car, aside from the Peacocks and Rita? The only other character I can think of is Dev (he lives above the shop).

Ken, Adam + Kevin & Sally spring to mind. Also a number of Vans owned by others, Charlie etc and street cars taxis.

Ken, Steve, The Websters, Dev, Rita, Gail maybe?, The Peacocks,, Frankie? Jamie has a van.

Les drives a taxi and Charlie a van but dont think they park them on the actual street, same with the Connors who dont live on the street.

They only seem to have Rita's car when it suits them, most of the time we dont see it!

IIRC, the Streetcars taxis are parked somewhere in Victoria Street, beside those large red gates for Nuttall's Brewery. Charlie presumably parks his van outside the building yard. Rita's car does seem to appear then disappear... I can't remember the last time it was onscreen. It was seen, however, in c. 2002, when Rita, Betty, Blanche and Emily went on a trip and ended up being confronted by a gunman (anyone else remember this??).

Audrey has a car, which considering she'd have to drive to work is never just parked outside the salon. the only regular car you saw was Mike's which passed onto danny then jamie.

Laughing Maybe Audrey's car is parked 'around the corner' from Coronation St, beyond where the free Whetherfield Wayfarer stops. Act-u-leh Wink

It is possible the car-owning residents of the terrace side of the street, keep their cars in a row of garages "off-screen" in a courtyard somewhere? Doesn't explain why the Peacocks Citroen is inconsistently parked/not parked on the street Laughing

it's never really been explained where any of the cars on the south side were parked such as Des Barnes, Tommy Harris' or Keith Appleyard's. Only the Platts house has what could constitute a drive way. Rita's could be just in the garage, maybe in the mists of time circa 1961 mention was made of some garages for the terrace side.

I wonder why no mention is made of characters cars when they die, with the exception of Mikes baldwin's car. What happened to Tommy Harris' Cortina for example.

Im not sure where Audrey parks her car? I wonder how far it is supposed to be from Audrey's house (Grasmere Drive?) to the salon? I know Betty who also lives away from the street (Hillside Crescent) used to walk home until she was mugged in 1982.

Betty Driver drives in real life, as ive seen her twice leaving the studios in her car, she stopped for me the last time and she signed an autograph and had a chat -she is lovely, just like Betty in the show.

Yes Nicky I remember that in 2002 - we have seen Reet's car a few times since then however. Im glad they have remembered that Reet can drive.

I think Ken Morley should have used his car for Reg Holdsworth, it was a pink American car

apparently they've remember that ivy knew about gails planned abortion, they showed a clip on this morning yesterday

A clip from when Ivy was in it or a clip from the current shows?

I must admit I didnt realise Ivy knew about it - I thought only Martin, Alma and the Websters knew. Be interesting to see if Sally and Kevin "dont know anything about it" when the truth comes out as they definately knew in 1990. It was because of Sally telling Kevin that he told Martin who then stopped Gail going through with it.

Ive just seen last nights episode as I wasnt here last night, and noticed Norris made a comment about Claire's glasses. So we arent the only ones who have noticed they have gone.

Am I the only one who will be glad when this Jamie and Frankie stuff comes to an end? It should be good this week though because

Danny's mum turns up and accuses Jamie and Frankie of killing him!

Hmm, looking at the title of the EE thread I see Banksoriginal thinks EE should get the BAFTA for their Christmas episode - Purlease Rolling Eyes and besides the episode hasnt even been shown yet. And that award is Corrie's for Danny's exit which was excellent, so hands off Very Happy Razz
