What reason was given? I don't understand why they'd cancel the Christmas bash. Silly Simon Shaps. He wants to exploit Coronation Street by airing it five times a week but refuses to reward the cast at the end of the year? Hardly what I'd call fair.

I liked Tracy's excuse for closing the curtains in last night's episode, 'the sun was too bright on the tv. In a north facing living room? No wonder Charlie didn't believe her.

you would think after 46 years the corry writers would know which way the street faces Rolling Eyes

Erm, it was a throw away line as a lame excuse coming from the character. It wasn't a statement on the geographical location of the Street.

You read far too much into these things.

Agreed. Just a tad pathetic. Especially coming from a character who was looking for a quick excuse so that her plan wasn't scuppered. Very few people would take any notice of it.

Except Steve of course. Rolling Eyes

I certainly didnt think anything of it either. In that situation she probabaly said the first thing that came into her head anyway!

Oh Dear... Grinch at ITV this Christmas

"They were not pleased. Their schedules are gruelling and they like to let their hair down at Christmas. It's safe to say the ITV head honchos will not be invited. They won't be welcome. Coronation Street earns them a fortune but they pulled the plug on its annual party."

I read an article in the News of the World a few weeks ago which said they had cancelled their party. They usually have a party for the show's birthday as well so maybe they didnt want to have 2 parties?

Corrie was good tonight - Im liking the Violet storyline at the moment and her reaction to Jamie's news was good.

However

Ive heard she loses the baby at New Year and is told she might not be able to have kids in the future.

Also according to the TV Guides Danny makes a phonecall to Jamie on New Years Eve so looks like we have one further appearance from Danny assuming Bradley will appear on screen?

Thought id best spoiler tag those since we have gone back to that on this thread.

Going by the satellite dishes on the Duckworths' house and on Tracy and Charlie's, both sides of the street must face south. Wink

I so that too as I got TV Choice (which was a Corrie cover *thud*) I did wonder if it was a real picture though which made me wonder if he did appear, however im glad he does. Shame he isnt in it for more than one episode.

Notice last night once again buses from Coronation Street were completly free of charge!

No wonder they can all afford to have their cars locked away in a private car park somewhere! Laughing

I live in a similar terraced street - I wish the parking here was as easy as it is on Coronation Street!

Only the Platts and Reet seem to have a garage - I often wonder where they park their cars. Of course 20 odd years ago most of the residents didnt have cars so it was easy to explain why there werent many on the set.

It would be more realistic with the cars on the street, eastenders is the same with cars appearing when and only when they are needed. Brookside seemed to be the only soap where the cars were where you'd expect them to be, outside the houses
