Can we get back to talking about Corrie now?!?

I cant think of anything to say other than Corrie was on the cover of Whats on TV this week for Danny's departure, probably the final time this year Corrie will be on the cover!

God, I dread to think how bad EastEnders must be next week then not to even warrant a What's on EastEnders cover!

Yeah EE must be dreadful at the moment as Corrie is on Whats on TV again this week, the 2nd week running (and the majority of other tv guides too) even TV Easy has a Corrie cover with Kate Ford, and I think they have only ever given Corrie a cover once in the past.

Whats on TV have improved this year with Corrie covers, call me sad but I kept all the Corrie covers from this year on Whats on TV and we have had 9 so far compaired to about 4 or 5 last year. Still 9 out of 51 issues, there is still room for improvement!

its worth noting that the next issue is out early - Saturday 2nd December where "Violet has big news for Jamie" so possibly another Corrie cover there!

And it's nice to see different storylines on the covers, with EastEnders they generally use the same storyline/cast members 3 weeks running

i.e one week "X has an affair with Y" showing both of them
Next week, "Z finds out about X's affair" which features both people with the person finding out in the background etc

Anyway last night's ratings

Coronation St (7.30pm) 11.4m, 49%
Coronation St (8.30pm) 10.6m, 43%
EastEnders 9.4m, 40%

Maybe thats because the likes of Shane Ritchie and Nigel Harman have left they dont have as many people on EE who sell covers anymore so use Corrie more often, not that im complaining.

For information the Whats on TV covers this year have been;

Issue 4 - 28th Jan-3rd February - Sarah and RIchard Hillman
Issue 6 - 11th-17th February - Tracy, Charlie and Amy
Issue 8 - 25th Feb-3rd March - Ashley and Joshua
Issue 27 - 8th-14th July - Shelly and Charlie
Issue 28 - 15th-21st July - Claire, Ashley and baby
Issue 32 - 12th-18th August - Sarah and Jason (wedding issue!)
Issue 38 - 23rd-29th September - Shelly and Charlie
Issue 47 - 25th November-1st December - Danny
Issue 48 - 2nd December-8th December - Charlie and Tracy

So Charlie has been the most featured Corrie star this year with 4 covers. Notice a pattern that we often get 2 or 3 covers within the space of 5 or 6 weeks and then nothing at all for up to 18 weeks!

To be confirmed of course. I doubt they will be at such organised times especially on Christmas Day

Well at least there are no extra episodes of Corrie. Just the same as normal.

Looks like It'll be the same as normal, apart from an extra 1/2 hour of Emmerdale, and slight changes to timings, on Christmas Day. Not happy with 2 solid hours of soap though! Sad

So it looks like the Christmas schedules are virtually becoming a carbon copy of the regular schedules then!

Well out of the big 3 soaps I only watch Corrie, so its only 1 hour for me on Christmas Day Smile

Thank heavens we have the BBC this Christmas. Apart from Coronation Street, there's rarely anything good to watch on ITV over the festive period.

What's On TV is based in London, so I suppose it's easier to get hold of EE stars for photoshoots; than it is for Coro or E'dale
