It's Archie Street, the location that a slighly more famous street was based on.

Your thinking the wrong street, Shortland Street is a hospital soap opera in New Zealand. Razz

Yeah I remember seeing that street on the closing credits of some 60s episodes. It looks slightly longer than Coronation Street is. I also remember the church on the closing credits in the very early days was right next to the Rovers!

I got an envelope from Granada today with signed cards for Tina O Brien, Ryan Thomas and Steven Arnold. All three were ready signed cards (i.e. they didnt sign the actually cards but a copy of their signature was printed onto it). Are they get lazy now in replying to fan mail and getting a secretary to send them in batches? Its odd as Ryan has already replied to me personally a while ago. By coincidence I sent my first letter for quite some time today to Sean Gallagher who plays Paul Connor so I will see if I get a reply.

Interesting.... do you write to the actors via their agents or via Granada?

By the way, where was Archie Street in Greater Manchester? Is its replacement still called Archie Street or is it a different name?

Archie Street no longer exists and it is in an area of Salford which no-one desires to travel through never mind even thinking about. The area is Ordsall and could possibly be one of the top 5 roughest areas in the country. Even police dogs go in threes, police cars by the dozen and only 1 bus an hour and they get damaged very badly (poor Arriva!!)

It's in Manchester is it. Looks like Hiroshima to me.

How the hell has it got in that mess?

Its in The City of Salford - not Manchester!!!!! IF anything Salfordonians (or is it Salfordites?) hate being associated with Mancunians (same with Boltonians which I am one!!!).

Ordsall is very much a very failed area which IMHO should be completely bulldozed (except for the Church and the historcal Ordsall Hall) and be made part of a new extension to its neighbouring Salford Quays (future home of the BBC)

The spoilers confirm that there is a double episode on 1st December, however the episodes look excellent with so much happening with Jamie/Danny and the arrival of Carla Connor.

What's this whole Tracey/Claire thing about? Have I missed something?

Why is Tracey so twitchy during their conversations?

Is she setting Claire up to be a character witness for when she tops Charlie?

I think thats the idea. No doubt Tracy will set up some more "situations" with Charlie for Claire to witness.

As for Frankie and Jamie im not sure if I like this storyline, putting aside the fact they had a mother/son relationship, it just seems to have come from nowhere. Jamie has always had feeling for her but Frankie hasnt and now she seems to be playing Danny and Jamie off against each other and in tonights show she seemed to enjoy doing it. She is no better than Danny and Leanne were and ive lost all sympathy with her character.

Its in Salford like someone has already mentioned. It is true that Salfordians don't like being dragged down with Manchester, especially as as a city, it is moving forward a great deal apart from this one area.
