I think it's a shame about Cadbury ending its sponsorship. If Corrie has to be sponsored, I think it's a good, traditional brand with which to have been associated.

Let's hope we don't end up with a tacky brand like Glade or Daz sponsoring. A cosy, traditional brand like Tetley Tea would be good... although I can see a rival chocolate-maker snapping it up.

maybe they are consto pated after eating all that chocolate

hope we don't get a really annoying sponsorship with a limited target audience like Lilletes or saga holidays

In which case, maybe they should get Ex-Lax Chocolate to sponsor it.

Something possibly of interest, i found this on t'internet t'other day...

It's Archie Street, the location that a slighly more famous street was based on.

Yes, it was also featured in the street's opening title sequence from 1960 until around 1967. I presume this picture was taken around the late '60s or early '70s, as Archie Street itself was demolished in 1971. St. Clement's Church, the church you see to the far left of the image, was also featured in the very early '60s closing sequence as Ena Sharples' beloved Glad Tidings Mission Hall.

The church is still there- ironically the housing that replaced Archie Street is in just a bad a state today some 35 yrs later!

Yeah I remember seeing that street on the closing credits of some 60s episodes. It looks slightly longer than Coronation Street is. I also remember the church on the closing credits in the very early days was right next to the Rovers!

I got an envelope from Granada today with signed cards for Tina O Brien, Ryan Thomas and Steven Arnold. All three were ready signed cards (i.e. they didnt sign the actually cards but a copy of their signature was printed onto it). Are they get lazy now in replying to fan mail and getting a secretary to send them in batches? Its odd as Ryan has already replied to me personally a while ago. By coincidence I sent my first letter for quite some time today to Sean Gallagher who plays Paul Connor so I will see if I get a reply.

Interesting.... do you write to the actors via their agents or via Granada?

By the way, where was Archie Street in Greater Manchester? Is its replacement still called Archie Street or is it a different name?

I reckon they get lots of fan mail so it's easier to copy a signature onto the photo cards, have you got Liam's autograph Jez.?

back to the street I've noticed that Beth seems to be a bit camera shy lately, wonder if it's something to do with the fact that 6 year old identical twins don't loose the same teeth at the same time. Wink

I usually write via Granada - occasionally ive tried agents but dont find the sucess rate very high. With Granada most of who ive written to have replied (ive written to about 35) - however Jenny Platt and Sam Robertson ive written a few times but got nothing. Got nothing back from Michael Le Vell as either.

I assume that street is in Manchester somewhere, id go and take a photo next time im there if I knew, as im like that with Corrie things. Embarassed When i was in Blackpool earlier this year I had to find the place where Alan Bradley was killed and take a photo.
