Nah, Newton and Ridley sold the pub several years ago and it became a Free House.

Seems a bit odd then to put up new Newton & Ridley signage.

It is quite confusing that they have replaced the lettering. Looking at the scene where Steve was putting up the new sign, it appears that a large slab has been placed on the "alcove" near the door (on the ground), presumably to hide the fact that the green tiles are falling off by the dozen.

Why did they have to bring Vernon back? He is far too boring and uninteresting.

I found the balloon had a more interesting personality, at least it had an excuse for being full of hot air

I actually really enjoyed both episodes. The scene with Liz and Eileen slapping Steve, and then Bev appearing behind him was priceless

I actually thought that was the worst scene of the entire episode. It was so cringeworthy and it was so predictable that Bev was there.

Corrie has been of such a high standard recently and last nights IMO I didnt think was that good but they are bound to have the occasional rubbish episode.

Some Christmas spoilers from the fortnighly soap mags;

Soaplife is reporting that Danny disappears on the 1st December and was last seen about to kill himself so no-one knows if he is alive or dead. Soaplife also say the episode on Friday 1st December will be a double episode.

Ive not spoiler tagged that as people wanted this thread to be spoiler tag free.

I picked this up ages ago on page 388 (or thereabouts) with the pic of the street with Beetham Tower: http://www.tvforum.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?t=8629&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=4644

So it looks like the outside of the pub gets a lick of paint...

They are becoming more frequent! I tell you, they are! This is all very reminiscent of the Monday doubles phasing in a few years back.

Sounds like quite a good exit for Danny, well - he'll be back anyway. I expect Frankie's on New Years Eve will be the one to look out for.

Might just be ITV wanting to get their money's worth during the run-up to Christmas. They usually have extra Corrie episodes during I'm A Celebrity. I wouldn't panic just yet, but I do find them irritating.

Thanks for posting your post - I must have missed it!

I also notice that Jack and Vera's stone cladding (at the bottom of their bay window) has been replaced, seeing as bits of it has been falling off since the mid-1990s. I'm quite sad, noticing these little things, aren't I?

Yes ITV often put out more episodes at this time of year due to Christmas advertising. Remember 2 years ago we got 8 episodes in one week!

I doubt the Friday double will be a regular, its just the most convenient time to add an episode when they want an extra one. And I think Danny's exit deserves a double episode.

Yeah, a double episode on a Monday, where the 8.30 shouldn't normally exist. Sad

Apparently Consto is to loose Cadbury's sponsorship after a decade.

Sorry if this has been mentioned or is common knowledge.
