Did they have fake snow last year? I can't remember. I remember it in 2004 though.

For Karen they did deffo, and for Clurr and Ashley they did... wait, that wasn't last year was it?
What happened last year, I've gone blank.

Claire and Ashely was the same year as Karen's exit. Last year was one of the best Christmas episodes in a number of years - different families enjoying the day (Barlows, Baldwins, Websters, Battersby's) Oh and the chippy went on fire in a comedy storyline.

I prefer a lighter episode on Christmas Day instead of doom and gloom.

Ah so there was no snow last year.

I loved Christmas 2004 - everything about it. Christmas Eve with the car exploding and Rita singing "Silent Night", Christmas Day with the Underworld roof fight with Tracy/Karen and then the wedding, and Fred's speech over all the scenes in the Street... then Boxing Day, a continuation of Christmas Day, and Karen's exit.

Brilliant.

I think it's a Christmas tradition for the Battersbys to have some comedy bad luck and not get any Christmas dinner

wonder if Cilla will be cooking up battered sprouts this year Wink

Christmas 2004 was OK but nothing special. They hyped it up saying Amy was in the car but from the spoilers we knew she wasnt. And all this happened just over a month after Maya's exit.

I much preferred last years. I rewatched that episode recently and the scenes with the Baldwins in the restaurant were so good, I loved it when Carol named Frankie and Leanne "number 1 " and "number 2" tarts, and suggested the 3 of them form a girl group "Danny's girls" lol I wish they would bring Carol back, she was great.

Watching that made me realise just how many characters we have lost in less than a year - Fred, Mike, Penny, Carol, Leanne, Keith, Craig to name a few.

Well Cilla is getting a serious storyline soon.

I don't always like doom and gloom either, but tbh, I didn't enjoy last year's episode too much. 2004 was amazing IMO.

I remember the snow because it snowed in Manchester on Christmas Day as well. Lovely. Very Happy

Did Steve tell Liz she should get on with the decorating? Please let that mean some new wallpaper for the pub - it's 20 years old and in reality would be absolutely disgustlingly stained with nicotine! Although the back room has been done several times, no one has ever bothered to remove Bet Lynch's rose wallpaper from the hall and stairs in 20 years either!

I agree with you there. They changed the wallpaper quite often before the fire. It really needs a makeover.

Think it's more a case of me not paying much attention to the TV mags this week, but for the first time in years tonight I watched Corrie and something I hadn't been expecting happened (the proposal!)

I didn't know it was happening either. I love avoiding spoilers. Laughing

It's convient that Debra's pregnancy coincides with the autumn/winter period, so that they can wrap Frankie up in warmer clothes, without anyone noticing why she's big in the belly area.

So far it's working better than the Jane Danson cover up from earlier this year.

Well I can't imagine how they could have incorporated a clipboard into Frankie's storylines. Wink

Laughing How is Jane Danson's baby clipboard doing I wonder, must be a few months old by now?
