I had an idea for a design for a Corrie website - either the official or an unofficial one... so much nicer, well I think so. Click to enlarge.

What does everyone think? There is a lack of decent Corrie sites out there, I could set it up, though I don't have time to maintain it, so perhaps someone else could do it. Even if not, it just goes to show - if a random person can design something better than the tat at the moment, the ITV web designers can sure come up with better!

i'm not desperately impressed with seeing a mock in the main forum. there is no excuses for incorrect forum usage. none.

Oh do go away. Rolling Eyes You serve no purpose at all, you do nothing other than annoy people with unnecessary contributions. Your sour attitude is tiresome and irritating... you're like a bad smell, floating around, unrelenting...

And for the record, I'm not desperately impressed with seeing you in ANY forum. Rolling Eyes

Last nights episodes were good, nothing amazing but the storylines all moved on well. It was lovely to see Jack and Vera in so many scenes. Yes I do hope that they do something to celebrate their golden anniversary next year.

Kelly coming back was also good and I sense a good storyline between her and Hayley over the coming episodes.

We also saw the reapperance of Sean Gallagher as Paul Connor last night after a long break. I understand Dream Team actresss Alison King (who plays Lynda Block) is joining Corrie as Paul's wife Carla Connor in December. She has always my favourite in Dream Team so im glad she is joining Corrie. For those who dont watch Dream Team so is regularly in the Daz "who blasted Vince" adverts!

Re: the Friday episodes.

Don't want the extra episodes either, but maybe it's inevitable considering Emmerdale is six nights a week.

However, commercially it would make very little sense as generally ITV1 can run a repeats Morse / Frost / Midsomer Murders in the 8.30pm slot and get very good ratings.

I dont know why people think the Friday episode could be regular. Arent we forgetting ITV have done this many times in the past, particularly at this time of year when advertisers are paying a lot of money for Christmas adverts.

I doubt they would have 6 episodes a week of Corrie - one double episode a week is more than enough, 2 double eps a week would be ridiculous.

I honestly wouldn't be surprised.

Fascinating YouTube searching has produced lots of past Corrie opening titles:

1960: http://youtube.com/watch?v=oUcjy3WG-Rg
1961: http://youtube.com/watch?v=pr_YGUuef8c
1975: http://youtube.com/watch?v=afzicxTUp5E
1982: http://youtube.com/watch?v=auYk-C4xQUY
1986: http://youtube.com/watch?v=3o9_CkPRQuA
1989: http://youtube.com/watch?v=PbdROWCiGBU
1999: http://youtube.com/watch?v=WWnsOl9s_hA
2002: http://youtube.com/watch?v=CiT1bzWH0Fw

Personally I'd like to see some new titles in a cross between the versions from 1986 and 2002.

I liked the ones from 1986 but they were only used for 1 episode (The Rovers Fire). All other episodes from the late 1970s and 1980s were the set with the cat on the rooftops, although I think they updated the last shot when Number 7 was rebuilt in 1982.

never understood why the older titles only showed one side of the street. Interesting to note one of the still of the rears of houses had a gap in to represent the absent number 7.

three cock ups on the present terrace are the complete roof across where number 7 was 'rebuilt', the old bricks on the back of number 7, and all the bathroom windows being surounded by new brick, like somebody forgot to put them in when they built the terrace Embarassed

here's another back view which shows what I mean more clearly

I can't post the photo as an image, does the address ending '.html' rather than '.jpg' make any difference

Gross spoiler:
Corrie’s hotpot just got hotter
Cosy Coronation Street is about to be rocked by its sauciest sex scandal ever. Man-mad Tracy Barlow will tell her bullying boyfriend Charlie Stubbs that the only way they can stay together is if she can have sex with factory boss Liam Connor – while he watches.

The subject of swinging has never been touched by any of the big TV soaps, and looks set to be part of the beefing-up of Coronation Street’s twee image
following defeat at the National Television Awards earlier this week.

Corrie has already been in hot water from some fans following the repeated ducking of David Platt’s head in a bath by Charlie in an episode this week. Sensitive viewers felt the assault was too violent for their favourite soap.

The steamy swinging storyline is also set to have some Weatherfield fans choking on their hotpot. Viewers will see Tracy (played by Kate Ford) suggest her sex thrills to Charlie (Bill Ward) as part of her plan to murder him. She intends to create a “self-defence” story that she has been mentally and sexually tortured by him.

Tracy tells Charlie: “I have sex with someone else of my own choosing – and you have to be there when I do it.” Charlie agrees to the saucy deal after being turned on at the prospect.

I hope that's not true.

The Daily Star today apologised for printing this story, according to CorrieBlog. Apparently they're usually quite reliable with spoilers, but this time they were misinformed:

"We incorrectly ran a story last week stating bosses were planning on filming a story about dogging involving Tracy Barlow and Charlie Stubbs. One of our usually reliable sources was misinformed and we now accept Coronation Street never intended to use such sordid storylines in the show”

Thank goodness is all I can say.

Probabaly because there was only a community centre and warehouse/factory on one side the street so not much of a view!

When exactly were the even number houses built?
