I enjoyed last night's episodes. The director was new I think and put in some effort.

I especially loved the start of episode 2, with the Manchester skyline for the CORONATION STREET part and then not starting the credits until after first scene. It was very atmospheric.

I actually wondered if that was deliberate or not. The final scene of the first episode seemed to end rather suddenly, and then the beginning of the second started off exactly where we left off.

It was almost as if they decided to cut the scene in half in order to give more of a cliff-hanger at the end of the first episode, with the credits appearing where the episode originally should have begun.

I might be totally wrong... it's just it didn't seem to flow very smoothly.

Doubt it as the credits went over Hayley and Becky in the learning centre, whereas the first episode ended with Danny/Jamie. They never start the 8.30pm with a different scene.

I think it was deliberate as the break sting - the Manchester skyline - was unusual, as was the delayed credits. It happens sometimes in shows. It happened during the initial double episodes in Richard's era. I remember they aligned the credits around the different shots of his crowbar! lol

I liked the way they connected some scenes with different people exiting / entering the same scene, such as Charlie leaving home and being passed by Danny and Frankie, then when their scene finished you see Yarna arriving at the battersbys, then cut to their scene. nice bit of editing.

Nice to see Jack and Vera Back, although Vera is starting to sound ill.

If rumours are to be believed, thwarted lover Tracy shoots cheating boyfriend Charlie dead on Christmas day.

But before us viewers get too excited about the dramatic turn of events, we think it's only fair to give actress Kate Ford the chance to defend her callous character.

From ITV.com's Corrie site.

Ah sounds good, we know Tracy is bonkers but to do something like that!

I had an idea for a design for a Corrie website - either the official or an unofficial one... so much nicer, well I think so. Click to enlarge.

What does everyone think? There is a lack of decent Corrie sites out there, I could set it up, though I don't have time to maintain it, so perhaps someone else could do it. Even if not, it just goes to show - if a random person can design something better than the tat at the moment, the ITV web designers can sure come up with better!

Well that looks ok. Corrieblog.net (not sure on its proper site name) is one of the main ones is it not - i guess that will have to do for now.

Brookside was always very good at doing that all the time. Must really pi$$ off the actor(s) for the next scene if the previous one has to go to alot of takes Rolling Eyes

Yes, it was nice to see them; hopefully, Corrie will do something for the Duckworth's 50th wedding anniversary next year. (Oh - Vera sounding like she does may be something to do with the fact that Liz Dawn appears to have new dentures...)

So is next Friday's episode just an attempt to steal viewers from Children in Need. Didn't it used to be the case of ITV pulling episodes from the schedule when airing against Comic Relief / Children in Need.

Also - I say it all the times but I'm so bored of all soap villians leaving in a box!

From the synopsis it looks like a special double episode, live Fred's funeral

Which is all the more worrying: these "special" Friday doubles are creeping in more and more often recently, that's how the Monday doubles originated.
