Disagree. I thought she was great.

Agreed. Smile

Maria definally is great

11.3m, you can tell the clocks have gone back!

Yes. I did notice that EastEnders had jumped suddenly to 10 million last night. Just to say that the quality hasn't improved that much. Laughing

I thought Samia was excellent last night. Both her and Kate Ford played their scenes very well indeed.

And well done to Corrie for getting such fantastic ratings last night - whatever the outcome of the NTA with ratings like that we know what the most popular serial drama is.

I think the Corrie opening titles need updating.

The last set was introduced in January 2002 I believe, so in a few months they will be 5 years old. I understand they were made using computer imagery to achieve the tram effect and the houses but they are getting old now, I'd like some new shots of the street.

I also prefer the way the writer and director is credited on Mondays 8.30pm episode, over the first scene. They should do that, update the titles with some newer shots of the street and add a cobbled backdrop to the end credits.

Just to keep things fresh, IMO.

The tram crossing the viaduct has never really worked for me, as there's too sharp a contrast between it and the background.

I'm sure that advances have been made in 5 years that could really do it justice, and not draw my eye quite such a critical way.

It would be nice to see some new angles and movement on shot.

Nothing fancy though.

I agree the credits need updating but I wouldnt expect them to be just yet. 5 years in nothing, we got the same set for 15 years until they were replaced with new titles for the 30th anniversary.

That viaduct bridge isn't supposed to carry trains (or trams) at all; Daran Little's various books say that after the 1967 crash, the line was closed. More than a slight continuity error?

I agree; come to think of it, Victoria Street is never shown in the titles. It would be nice to see some different angles (even more so if they decide to go ahead with extending the set).

Closed as a BR line. But (fictionally, of course) re-opened as a Metrolink line sometime after 1992 perhaps?

Just a quick idea about the opening - assume Craig/Keith is the first scene of the episode. There would obviously be more shots, I just couldn't find any on the internet! You get the idea with the darkness and saturation - they're not too dark but they look more like the titles before the current set.

I don't like the idea of putting credits over the opening scenes

It would be like american programmes where they list loads of people at the start

It already happens on CS on Monday.

It also happens in Casualty, Holby City, The Bill, Hollyoaks and pretty much every other UK drama too. It used to happen in EastEnders in the late 90s.

Yeah, EastEnders did it for a few years and I quite liked it. I wouldn't like too many names. Just the writer, director and producer.

I agree with Andrew, the American shows tend to do it and it lasts for ages. I wouldn't like that to happen.

Back to Corrie, i did enjoy the episodes, wonder if OFCOM got any complaints?

Just reading about EastEnders win at the nta awards and saw this-

CORRIE bosses have been bombarded with complaints after Monday’s controversial scenes in which Charlie Stubbs (Bill Ward) tried to drown David Platt (Jack Shepherd) in the bath.

A Corrie spokeswoman said: “This behaviour was in keeping with Charlie’s character. We didn’t set out to offend.”

Most people more then likely saw the pictures in the papers so why bloody watch it? Rolling Eyes
