Also rumour has it that Chris Finch (Karl) has flimed him final scenes and will leave the show in June. Apparently it involves an ugly confrontation with a major character.

Pleased to hear that. The Karl character has been a really nasty piece of work in my opinion. People are people, irrespective of their sexual preferences; but he was something of a first for the show, and I just didn't like the type they were portraying. Predatory, arrogant, and so sure he knows what someones sexuality is just because he's had his end away with him. Its just not that simple.

For the record - I've been in similar situations vis a vis sleeping with 'straight' men, but I would never presume to tell them they must be lying to themselves.

There's no Coronation Street on Wednesday 26th May due to the Champions League Final.

There's three episodes of Coronation Street on Monday 24th May

19.00 Emmerdale
19.30 Coronation Street

Todd desperately tries to convince Sarah that he still loves her. Harry is stunned by his discovery about Orchid. Norris is dogged by Schmeichel and Chesney. Starring: Bruno Langley, Tina O'Brien, Iain Rogerson, Casey-Lee Jolleys, Malcolm Hebden, Sam Aston
20.00 Tonight with Trevor McDonald
20.30 Coronation Street

Sparks fly when Gail and Eileen clash. Fred gets his answer from Orchid, as Ashley discovers she's a fake. Schmeichel's barking sends Norris mad. Starring: Helen Worth, Sue Cleaver, John Savident, Steven Arnold, Malcolm Hebden
21.00 New Series: Hell's Kitchen
22.00 Coronation Street

News about Todd reverberates through the Street. Norris sets a trap for Chesney and Schmeichel. Starring: Bruno Langley, Sam Aston
22.30 ITV News

Looks like a good night of drama mixed with a bit of comedy.

Now that is serious overkill, keeping up with Coronation Street is becoming more of a commitment every week.

And there are also 2 episodes on the Friday which means 6 episodes in total going out that week.

I agree. Watching the Corrie 8:30 Monday Episode is now more of a chore than just something I do - as there's always something else i need to do at that time of night. The 7:30 showing's fine, because I keep my schedule free for then. Three episodes in one night is, as you said, just overkill!

What happened to going back to just 1 episode on Monday nights? I'm sure I read about it happening soon.

:O What time's that on?

It's a strange night to have two episodes, on the Friends Finale/BB Launch night. It's obviously going to have to clash with one of them - or with both of them (with C4 now starting Friends at around 8:55pm).

I expect when Euro 2004 starts there will be a few missed episodes, the same goes for Emmerdale, so it'll probably all even out.

For example on Monday 14th June, ITV1 are showing both the 5pm match and the 7.45pm match, so there won't be time for any soaps of any description on that particular day.

They are currently scheduled at 7.30pm and 8.30pm, although this is subject to change as its more than 2 weeks away.

IIRC last year ITV dropped Emmerdale down to 5 nights and Corrie down to 4 nights during the summer (June-August) so by then they might only have 1 Corrie ep on a Monday and if there is Euro 2004 on they will probabaly show Corrie at 10pm or something

I couldn't agree more, as much as I enjoy Corrie I find Mondays a real nuisance, it ends up taking from 7.30 until 9pm in the end, because the half hour between dissapears (as I don't watch 'Enders). I keep meaning to wait until later and watch it on ITV2 but its just that bit too late then. 4 episodes a week is enough, keep it special!

While I'm "on" I also agree with some of the above statements about Karl I think the way they've written his character will reinforce in some peoples minds that being gay is something "caught" or forced on someone by somebody else - so far there's been nothing about how Todd feels inside, deep down. I really hope that there is an explanation that Todd wanted or felt he had to "be like everyone else" with the 2.4 kids etc and that the "ready made familly" was what attracted him rather than fancying Sarah. It's all been a bit clumsy so far I think.

With Todd and Karl going, its a shame they won't have a regular gay character any longer.

But for it to even out isn't really the point. 3 episodes in one evening is too many regardless of whether you might have to go without on some other night.

To split them up into three parts and keep you occupied for up to three hours is a pain as well.

I have just heard that Sarah goes into premature labour and the baby dies.

Poor Sarah, Is there no ending to this girls suffering.

Totally agree, he deserves the axe.
