I agree with Andrew. Normally it pisses me off when they roll the credits when the next episode is after the break. It's quite lazy I think. But on this occasion, I'm glad they didn't. It made it clear that the 7pm episode was meant to be shown yesterday. What with all the references to the day being Sunday, the producers' mail bag would have been full of corrections and all that from smart arses.

I think it's good there were credits, to show people that it actually was yesterday's episode and not an hour long episode, plus remember there's no corrie credits till 8.55 on a Monday

Cant win what they do can they. If they had edited out the credits people would have said they were trying to make it look like a 1 hour special when it wasnt!

I very much doubt anybody would have said anything. No need to jump to their defence, I was just commenting on it. I think the excuses given are pretty lame. It was just laziness.

Anyway....

Great episode(s) tonight. The Maria/Charlie/Tracy and now David storyline is really stepping up a gear, and I can't wait to see what happens next. From the spoilers, it looks really good. I also liked the scene with Blanche and Ashley. Nice to see a different side to Blanche. It's a side we very rarely see unfortunately.

A few laugh out loud moments as well, particularly Rita's line to Norris:

"'Hi Ken, how are you?' 'Oh hi Deirdre, I'm fine, by the way 8329...'"

Laughing

And also Fred's ashes in the gravy container. Classic.

Oh is that why it was an hour tonight because it wasn't on yesterday?

Did wonder why it was a hour...

I really don't think people notice if there are credits of not. I never did anyway.

Just thought it was the creative department at ITV thinking we needed an hour and half of it tonight rather than a new programme.

Yes good episodes tonight, loads of great lines including Bev putting Fred's ashes in a gravy jar and wanting to scatter them in a layby on the A54 (where's the A54!)

Norris writing out an idiots guide to the Kabin with notes such as 'turn the sign round to say open' was good as well

David's great don't you think. Saying that Charlie has 'tarts on tap'! Have you seen him in this week's tv mags looking menacing towards Charlie!

Tonights episodes were good, although i missed the 8.30 one! If timing it right, ill catch that later tongiht, if ITV 2 still repeat and not too late.

Yes it is that one. That Charlie Stubbs can be a nasty piece of work can't he!

By the way, when "rat boy" and Maria were eating pizza, they looked like they were similar ages don't you think?

Oh so it was when they were visiting their new life in the Peak District then. I was just checking. I know where the A55 is, it's the North Wales Expressway!

The Monday doubles were only ever supposed to be for 4 weeks in September 2002 to boost ITV's autumn schedules. ITV insisted that Corrie werent adding a 5th weekly episode yet they carried on with the Monday doubles. I think they took a break during the summer of 2003 when we went back to 4 episodes a week. But as far as I remember there was a double episode every week from September 2002 to about May 2003. Then in September 2003 they came back and havent moved since.

Ah right.

Shame ITV didn't force them, as they were event TV back in the day. I'd like them to axe Mondays 8.30 episode and Emmerdale's Sunday episode. I doubt it would be TOO much of a loss for ITV.

In fact, in the long run I reckon axing 2 episodes from each soap could help ITV. It would certainly improve its image. If people saw they were freeing up slots for more diverse, alternative programming their opinions of ITV might change.

I read about that in The Sun and I'm really looking forward to this. Charlie is becoming increasingly dark, and he is now really becoming the real baddie he was always meant to be. Looks like gripping stuff.
