As my colleague just said when I read that to him:
"She's a fruitcake. She's losing it!".
Yes, indeed she is. The breakdown is being played very well by Susie Blake I think. Very believable, and alot more than the "grief" by Ashley and his wooden wife
I dont think Claire is wooden at all. She was excellent during the whole post natal depression storyline.

I agree, very believable, after all she's not merely grieving but humilliated, left with nothing, with no family around her and surrounded by people who want her out of the way [Liz, Ashley].
To cap it all, she's having to come face-to-face with the woman who was with her fiance when he died (insensitive as ever, Aud!); even if nothing was happening between Fred and Audrey, it's enough that she knows Audrey wanted there to be and she was with him.
Of course she's a hysterical woman about to go over the edge, so if Susie Blake's portrayal seems melodramatic, I think it's justified! Shame on Steve Frost for letting her go with a pathetic excuse like 'well she wouldn't stay with Fred and Shelley gone', if she had the Rovers (like single women such as Annie Walker, Bet Lynch and Natalie barnes) she would!

What, when producers dealt with it by writing her out for a month!
Obviously im talking about her performance in this stoyline when she was on screen.
And they had to write her out for a month for the storyline to be realistic. You dont get over something like that overnight. I expect if she has been let out of hospital the next day people would say it wasnt realistic.

I agree, Susie Blake is a fine actress and Bev a good character. Its a shame they are writing her out. If she was getting a happy ending moving away with Fred then id say ok, but lets hope they give her a happy ending when she finally does leave after all she has been through.
