Is that a new actress playing Sophie Webster in Corrie tonight ?

She was. Her face isn't as strong as the other one.

If anyone didn't notice Plus yesterday showed the classic Reg and Maureen Water bed episode from 1993 and I have to say it was so funny, as I've never seen in it full before.

If anyone wants to see it again, it'll be on at 9.30am or so on Saturday.

They could at least have got someone with dark hair! I would've thought they would leave it a few weeks before introducing the new actress, the old one was only in it last week - her parents must have made a very sudden decision to take her out of the show, as coming storylines require more of Sophie, it was probably too late to rewrite to allow us a little time to forget the old Sophie perhaps.

The thing I noticed more than the head transplant was that she actually said something.

I have heard her being cheeky to Rosie no 2 a few weeks ago when she was dating Craig .
Both Sally and Kevs girls have now been replaced,Rosie mark 1who was pretty bad at acting had a frankenstein forehead .Rosie mark 2 is a big improvement .But the new Sophie need to get an appointment with Audrey and see to that bush on her head .

Well from our point of view it looks like Sophie Number 1 has left at just the wrong time. After doing nothing more than going upstairs to wash her hands for years she's now starting to have a bigger part.

Notice how to make it obvious Kevin went "SOPHIE! what are you doing here". Just the same as when Deirdre said 'Tracy!' when Kate Ford walked in a few years ago

That episode was obviously a trial for the new Sophie.

This is actually the 3rd actress to play Sophie. However Tracy has been played by 4 actresses.

Ive just heard that Suranne Jones (Karen McDonald) will be leaving Corrie at Christmas

The article can be seen on teletext page 131

Also rumour has it that Chris Finch (Karl) has flimed him final scenes and will leave the show in June. Apparently it involves an ugly confrontation with a major character.

So we have Nick, Tommy, Angela, Harry, Bev, Todd, Dev (maybe) and now Karen and Karl leaving.

To be honest I think most of those are for the best

Suranne set for Christmas exit

Exclusive by Simon Holden

Corrie glamour girl Suranne Jones is quitting the soap, it has been
announced.

Suranne, who plays Karen McDonald, is being given a huge storyline to
go out on at Christmas.

Granada TV boss Carolyn Reynolds has held meetings with her to
discuss solo drama roles. Neither has ruled out a return to Corrie in
the future.

"I adore playing Karen and love working with Simon Gregson. If it
wasn't for the Corrie writers and Simon I wouldn't be where I am
today and for that I'll always be grateful," said Suranne.

"But I just think the time is right for me to move on and explore
other acting opportunities, whilst leaving the door open for Karen to
return. I know Granada believe this is the best way forward as it
gives the writers at Corrie the chance to write a terrific exit for
Karen."

The decision was taken on Thursday morning in the Corrie long-term
planning meeting. Details of her departure will be secret until
closer to transmission.

Her character has had a torrid time in Weatherfield over the last
four years.

Karen had an affair with lingerie factory boss Joe Carter and was
then reconciled with her husband Steve (Steve Gregson).

She divorced him so she could re-marry him and have the wedding she'd
always dreamed of.

But it was ruined by toxic Tracy Barlow who turned up and announced
Steve was the father of her baby. It drove a wedge between her and
Steve's mum Liz.
