Well done TVMark - its always nice to meet someone from the cast. Not a fan of Bruno myself but nice to hear he took the time to sign an autograph and have a photo taken.

I met a few of the cast 2 weeks ago including Tina O Brien, and I was so excited afterwards too Smile

I agree the spoiler tags are annoying. I only use them because you will get someone (who probabaly doesnt even care if they find out what is going to happen) complaining if i dont!

In the Daily Star today there were pictures and information about the new family, The Connors, who arrive towards the end of August.

They consist of Michelle Connor (played by Kym Ryder) who we have already met, she will be a barmaid at the Rovers and wont get on with Liz. She will be joined by her 14 year old son Ryan. Also part of the family are her two brothers Paul and Liam, named after the oldest and youngest of the Gallagher brothers. Sneaky older brother Paul, who is described as the brains of the family, cons Adam into selling him his shares of the factory while hunky younger brother Liam is soon at war with Danny Baldwin when he makes it clear he is after the factory and Frankie.

Sounds good, and the younger brother looks gorgeous going by the photo. Smile Wink

Where are they going to live then I wonder?

The younger brother does look quite tasty - a much needed injection of non-teenage alpha males I think!

Not sure how the storylines will pan out though - there's already been too much based around the ownership of the factory. I hope they're not too "Mitchell Brothers" lording it around with dodgy businesses and threatening people all over the place; it got boring on EE and helped to drag it down IMO.

How was Michelle Connor in it before? What was the storyline? I can't remember!

Michelle was a singer in that band that Vernon (Liz's boyfriend) was involved in. Wasnt a huge part but I guess the producers were impressed with her so have given her a long term contract.

Im glad the street is getting some new characters, since we are going to be losing a lot of characters over the next 6 months.

Oh yes! Thanks Jez, I remember now!

It does need some well chosen new characters yes, not like the last batch with Diggory, Nathan etc. Is Vernon staying long? I can't stand him!

I think its no coincidence that Diggory, Keith, Nathan etc all lasted barely a year on the show. Thats what they get when they dont develop characters properly. Does anyone miss Nathan or Diggory? I certainly dont.

No idea about Vernon. The other day I was watching the episode shown on Christmas Day last year and Vernon was in it at the Barlow's. I was surprised Vernon has been in it as long as he has. One character that I will be sorry to see go (apart from Danny) is Bev.

Bev will be missed. I do hope Vernon goes eventually. These new characters look great, with them and Becky's family coming in soon, the future's looking bright.

Bev had some flair about her. Nathan had no charisma, and had a permanent snarl/scowl on his face-- probably the worst character in the Street at the mo IMO. Diggory is just a poor immitation of Fred Elliot!

I also hope this family aren't going to be an EastEnders po-faced gangster-style family. We've had that in Ronnie, another misfit character.

Let me comment on tonight's show.

I thought it was a good episode, and it was nice to see Craig and Keith in Weathefield again. I can't wait for Sunday's ep.
Also when Bradley Walsh goes on his "break" who will run Underworld? Confused

Is Bradley going on a break though? I heard he was leaving for good because his family lives in London, and he is going to do a talk show or something.

I will miss Bev. I feel the reason that 'she has to go, it's nothing personal, but her family are going and so must she' is merely an excuse. Why couldn't she run the Rovers alone (after Fred has left). After all Bet ran the Rovers alone both before and after she married Alec so there is a precedent. Also she's friends with Liz. There could have been a good friendship there like Bet/Betty with just a hint of friction/tension as both are close in age and experience for the job.

I think Susie Blake is a fantastic actress and has been shabbily treated (after all she was axed two years ago only to come back briefly and then go again).

I think it has been mentioned somewhere he is leaving for a short while to do his chatshow-- it depends on how successful the chatshow is I suppose? Confused
