Oh cant wait to see the new bitchy Frankie. IMO Nathan was never good enough for her anyway, such a boring character. Danny is the one she truly loves

That could explain, why Danny occasionally has feelings for Frankie visa versa. It seems he may end it with Leanne next week.

It was the worst pregnancy cover up in soap history.

Oh I don't know. I think Hayley's 'big bag' pregnancy from a couple of years ago still wins hands down, particularly considering the biological impossibility of it.

Oh, and whilst I'm on...

"This is Blanche... like what you do with sprouts."

Fabulous.

That was funny, the best scene with Blanche during the past week was when Joanne was asked to guess her age and she said 90!

Blanche's little jibe about the amount of men Deirdre has got through was amusing too!!!

As for Leanne, I swear she is going to give birth to a clipboard!!

When Leanne and Mr Charisma (Nathan) leave, Danny and Frankie may get back together. Danny and Frankie are supposed to be being written out next year... maybe they will run off into the sunset?!

I thought it was a shame that Toxic Tracey got the last word during Shel's leaving speech. Clever twist that she was listening into Shel and Bev's conversation though!

I loved Corrie the other night with Hayley turning into Pam Ayres! Another classic by Jonathan Harvey there. Laughing

there were some interesting new filming angles in last night's episode, particularly in the peacocks when clare was giving birth.

Some good scenes from josh when matt came round, he even had lines. Nice to see the child characters intergrating into the story lines rather than just being in the background.

Now we have another new baby in the street the sound department will have to dust off their 16 year old 'baby crying' tape which has been used for every baby since rosie webster.

Is that the first time we've seen the reverse angle of the Peacock's living room since Maxine was killed?

I've notice of late we seem to be getting quite a few places we don't normally see, such as the Rovers' toilets. Also IIRC we've seen the infrequently used wall with the fireplace in the Barlows' living room and the wall with that horrible red brickwork in the Battersbys' - which we always used to see when Ivy lived there, but for some reason the standard shot was reversed when Les and Janice moved in.

they seem to be doing a lot of reverse angles lately, including the rovers and the cafe. Guess now cameras are small enough to fit inside a four wall set they can use a variety of different viewpoints instead of relying on three walled sets and one camera position.

One thing I've never understood with the terrace house sets on corry is why the back rooms don't go behind the stairs, the back wall is level with the banisters on the staircases. That would leave a gap between the houses the width of the staircases

That is an excellent point - never noticed that till now!
Inevitably it's to provide support for the staircase and keep the lighting grid clear for the back room.

Another new angle we got to see recently was up the stairwell of the Peacocks, incl their landing ceilng and cornicing, when she came running down - though yes we did get to see something similar around the time of Maxine's death as I recall, their whole landing in fact.

I always presumed that three-wall sets were used on Corrie, with just moveable flats brought in to make up the fourth when required - is this not the case? The cameras are still mostly standard pedestals as far as I know, and they still need space for directors and sound ops.
Saying that, the 'extra' walls are always incredibly well incorporated, with not so much as a hint of a join, ever - leading one to believe that they may be permanent, even if just 1 foot corners...

I've always wondered about the bit in the back room that should be recessed where the stairs are - the only houses that realistically portray this are the Battersby-Brown's (there are built in cupboards), and Frankie's which of course was rebuilt by Len Fairclough in time for the new outdoor set in the early 80s.

The toilets in the Rovers looked real to me - perhaps they were the ones in the mock Rovers? When Fred goes, assuming the ownership changes, they really ought to close down for a refit and sort out the set once and for all - all it needs is to alter the layout of the back hallway and stairs and turn it 90 degrees. I guess this would require a restructring of the studio space though - it's probably not worth it just to please those amongst us who get irritated by such things Laughing
