Just to return to the discussion about disabled characters... has everyone forgotten about Maud Grimes? She was in a wheel-chair, but her disability was never made into an 'issue'. She was also a great character IMO!

Yes, she was a great character!

I loved Jack and Vera's scenes last night - Vera suggesting Jack may need Viagra Laughing And it's about time Sally got herself a job - she could pay for "Rozzie's" fees then - do you think the script writers (until last night) had forgotten she hasn't worked for ages? She could get a job at that chippie they sometimes show!

Just seen Johnny Briggs being interviewed on the BAFTA After show party. I can't believe he is 70 next year.

I think its about time Mike Baldwin retired from the factory! But if he did, who would take over as his full time replacement?

It was stated on one of the post bafta interview programmes that Johnny Briggs was telling everyone that he was/is very tired with the gruelling work schedule and that he is *thinking* of retiring from The Street. Some people have rumoured that this was just a ruse (sp) to try and force Granada to pay him more!

Who knows?

Unfortunately, as Bradley Walsh is joining soon as Mike's long lost nephew to help him run the business, I fear that he may be being lined up for Mike's long term replacement. I remember reading Johnny Briggs only wanted to do a few more years, then retire to Spain and play golf or something (sounded like the sort of thing Mike could do - and just pop back now and again via Easy-jet).

If I keep imaginging how terrible Bradley Walsh will be, I'm hoping that it'll not turn out as bad as I'd feared!

I see Todd is back to his 'I don't Know' phase again just like when Harry Hill took the mick last time.

I don't know where this story is heading but its getting quite boring, someone struggling with their emotions every episode doesn't seem to make good TV. Todd's level of acting seems to be going down hill as the time goes on as well, he'll be at Adam Rickett level soon!

Oh and have you noticed how at one time you knew that whenever anyone went to Weatherfield General, Martin wouldn't be far away. Now you know that everytime Todd will happen to bump into Karl, neither seemingly doing anything besides walking the corridors and have one of those chats. 1 in 3 scenes then has the addition of Katy also bumping into them at the same time! what are the chances of that happening!

Also, isn't it good to see all these appearances from Bill Tarmey lately. The scenes with Vera and Tyrone are good, especially Kirk and Roy saying just what Tyrone doesn't want to hear!

Others have said it before on this forum, but after last night's episode I really do think Karl is really annoying, just being a bit too pushy; I can just hear my dad (and similar people) saying "well Todd wouldn't be gay if that Karl hadn't pressured him so much".
Not good. Not good at all.

By bringing Bradley Walsh in, they're just trying to do an EastEnders Shane Ritchie thing. Plus the fact they want to bring more Londoners into the Northern soap! Soon be called Oxford Street - i fear..

According to All About Soap magazine they start a "proper" affair next week, and Todd is uncomfortable when both his girlfriend and lover attend Maria's 21st birthday party.

Bruno has always been very wooden IMO, on occasions worse that Adam Rickett.

I agree the storyline is dragging on for too long, and Karl is sooooo annoying, I wish someone would wipe the smug look off his face, but by far the most annoying in it at the moment is Katy.

Ive also noticed next week Corrie we have SIX episodes going out, the extra one being on Friday at 8.30pm, no doubt to get people back watching ITV after DepressEnders, as they have a new series of Taggart at 9pm I think.

Aww, wasn't it lovely? You just know that Eileen's going to be supportive of Todd... She actually strikes me as quite good fag-hag material. Smile

Unless I missed a reference to it in the dialogue, what happened to Tims hair - and personality? He was a dead-ringer for Duncan Norvell in his first few appearances, much more likely to pop up in the bar next to Karl on Canal Street; then last night the hair was gone, and he seemed to have shifted his delivery of lines to the point where I thought they'd got another actor in.

COuld his loss of hair be related to what he may be doing behind Candice's back? Wink
