I can't help feeling strangely put in mind of Zippy from Rainbow whenever I see Bethany.

two observstions from last night's episode

dev turns up to open the shop, doesn't unlock the door, argues with amber, then keith and eileen just walk inside.

lloyd jumps into kelly's bed complaining about his night on the sofa
in a two bedroomed flat

Didn't Dev give Amber the keys on Wendesday, so she'd still have them and would have opened up, or he could have sent her to open up before school.

The release date of the 1960s Box Set has been put back to the 31st July according to Network's website. It was supposed to be released on Monday.

Is anyone else going to get this box set? I got the 70s and 80s and throughly enjoyed them, however im not such a huge fan of 60s Corrie because ive seen hardly any. Its cheaper than the 70s/80s sets were at £79.99 instead of £99.99. Amazon also have a 25% discount.

Can't help noticing all the ringtones on the cellphones owned by the likes of Dev, Sean, Craig, etc, are from the default
ringtone set that comes with current and recent mobiles made by Motorola. Dev's phone had the "Provinicial" ringtone.
Sean's phone was playing one called "Latin Loops". Craig's cellphone recently played the "Sharp Edge" ringtone.

So, is this a coincidence that perhaps almost everyone with a cellphone in Weatherfield have all bought Motorola's,
or does Granada (aka ITV Productions) have a sneaky deal going with the aformentioned mobile manufacturer?

The Daily Star Sunday (not the most reliable of sources) is reporting today that Bradley Walsh has quit Corrie and is getting his own Saturday night entertainment/talk show on ITV!.

I hope it isnt true.

Oh no. He'd be awful on a Saturday night show; a teatime/daytime thing perhaps, but not a Saturday night.

Id definately watch a show if he was on it, but I want him to stay in Corrie too!

I thought the truth was that Bradley has signed to do a tea-time chat show filmed live from Manchester where he has just signed an extnded contract to stay with Coronation Street, so that he can commit to both programmes

Dek sums up this week perfect-

Devil child

So it was Demonic David who’d been sending those Hillman cards all along. Predictable and boring.

Life in Coronation Street isn’t exactly riveting these days is it? Does anyone care about Kelly’s court case. Not even Kelly very much judging by the expression on her face.

Not caring seems to be the case on the cobbles these days. Did Gail rant and rave having been driven nearly mad by her deranged son. Not a bit of it. The only mildly intriguing storyline on the show seemed to have been left to peter out. Such a waste.

It’s time for a major shake up down Weatherfield way and to get back to the shows strengths. There simply aren’t enough characters that we care about anymore and trusty old stagers are being let down with storylines and scripts that just remind us how good the show used to be.

This show used to be must see telly. Now it’s the sort of show you catch if there’s nothing better on. It should be ITV’s flagship show but it needs to be produced with less cynicism and more care. As viewers we’ve invested decades of our viewing lives into the show. We deserve a bit better in return.

This is what happens when a broadcaster (in this case ITV) puts the programme on more than 3 times a week. Becomes very weak and very unappealing. No longer event television but just plain older cannon-fodder gets advertising revenue television.
