Remember the cartoon ones circa 2002... "Come on now, say thankyou..<tweet tweet>"

Talking of Emmerdale, I used to like the Daz sponsorship with the two dogs watching the washing machine spin.

Yes, the Coronation Street sponsership bits are very annoying, especially the 'Ticket To My Heart'. I remember liking the ones they first had, I think', with the street made out of chocolate with chocolate people if I remember correctly.

The new Emmerdale ones are also terrible, the woman in them is so annoying. Mad

Yes the orginal Cadbury sponsership on Corrie was the street made out of chocolate - the music was good on those too. Its quite an achievement for Corrie to hang on to its sponser for a decade (well it will be a decade this autumn). Most other soaps have changed sponsers lots of times.

I dont watch Emmerdale anymore but the Daz dog ones were terrible as well IMO.

Ive just been looking through my copy of All About Soap for the next 2 weeks and on the cover it implied inside we would find out who the stalker is - yet im no closer to finding out who it is! They seem to think its either David or Phil but I will be very disappointed if its either of those two. Mind you they did have a nice picture of Bradley Walsh wandering around Manchester with a beard and looking rugged - Grrrr Smile

Eeek, I read in The Sun that they say David is sending the card, I'm not trusting The Sun totally but If it's true, I would be deffo angry with the writers. Confused

I heard that the Star also said it was David. I hope not though.

David would be too obvious for my liking.

I'm hoping they go for something not obvious at all - like Becki or Ronnie being Hillmans child - or I'm thinking possible Hillman is Chesney's dad and Cilla's been sending the cards.

It's getting the balance right between credible and predictable.

I'm still saying Craig!

Forgot to post this yesterday - on This Morning on Friday they said 15 characters would be axed by the end of the year, though most of these would be character on the periphery, rather than main characters.

Why Craig - he has no grudge against Gail does he? I know he might blame Martin for Tommy and Katy's deaths but just because Martin was once married to Gail that is no reason to take it out on her.

As for the axings - well we have several characters going already;

Penny (already gone?)
Ronnie
Diggory
Nathan
Bev
Fred
Shelly (I think she quit and wasnt axed)
Becky (I heard that she is going, probabaly once this storyline with Kelly is over)
Leanne (maturnity leave, unclear if she is returning)

hmm, I often wonder where these newspapers get their ideas from..

they get their ideas from moles within the organisation who are fed on fake storylines to get them off the scent of the real storyline
clair driving a tram off the viaduct for example, which turned out to be clair driving a bus over smichael

no surprise if people are being axed this year, most companies do their fare share of 'axing' when it comes to contracts renewal time, it just seems to be an issue with the media where soap stars are concerned.

as for david sending the cards i'd like to see it be somebody totaly obscure who we'd never thought of.

as for suggesting cilla was she around when hillman was or did she come in after he departed for that great sales conference in the sky

The best one reported in the papers was that Keith Duffy was going to arrive in Corrie as Ciaran and going to be Peter's gay lover Smile

Well Corrie does have a fairly high cast turnover really when you think of it - there is always someone leaving or about to leave. After watching that episode from 2001 it made me think how many cast are still in it from even 5 years ago and its not that many when you take away all the really long term ones who have been there 20+ years.

Cilla was after Hillman - she came in about October/November 2003.
