You might be thinking of Ravi Desai, who was Vikram and Nita's dad.

Yup, that was who I was thinking of.

Great to hear about the cull, glad the Harris' are going, same with Nicky Tilsley. Shame to hear about Harry going as he is a good character, even though he hasn't had a major storyline.

Yeah, there's the chance of Harry to have a storyline at the moment with Eileen or Janice (at least another love triangle will be avoided though) - but with Janice and Eileen rumoured to leave (I hope not in either case), what's the likelihood they will pair Harry off with one or the other?

Ok... Adam Rickett going... yay. Dreadful actor and up himself. He can go as soon as we've had a Nick/Todd sex scene.

Bev going... a pity. I quite liked her. A good actress too although the character is a bit naff. I hope she doesn't die, otherwise we'll have Shelly on screen crying for a few more months.

Angela going... a real shame! She's great and a good actress too! I like her character and feel that she hasn't been in the street long enough.

Tommy going... he can go. He doesn't do much except say "Ma-in" all the time. However, I think Kevin would be better off dying and Tommy getting his garage.

Harry. I liked him. Coronation Street needs these humorous background characters like Archie was.

Why on Earth Kevin isn't going to die yet is beyond belief.

Never really seen the point of Harry Flagg. He always seems a bit like 'Roy Cropper Lite'. I don't think I'll miss any of those characters.

Interesting to note that there's no mention of Todd leaving. Maybe those rumours about them getting rid of him once he's come out are unfounded.

It is a real shame Harry is going, I thought we were just starting to find out more about him, and his character was growing on me and I thought actually giving Janice and Eileen storylines with him may bring him in to the show more. I like Bev too, I've always liked Susie Blake, and I'm sure there's more milage in her character, perhaps she could "come and go".

Very pleased to see Nick (open your mouth when you speak) Tilsley and Tommy going, I thought Angela had potential but without Tommy, yet another middle aged single woman would be overkill - back again to lack of storylines for Janice/Eileen. Hopefully Craig will go with them, and Kay-eee won't be too far behind. I'd sooner let all these stop though than get bl**dy Walsh bloke though.

I do worry that they are getting rid too soon sometimes, these are all people just getting settled, it took the McDonalds 2-3 years before they really settled in, and they keep bringing them back now! I hope this new producer isn't just out to make change for changes sake.

I do think that Kevin and Martin (maybe even Sally & the girls)could be got rid of without anyone noticing (or caring).

With the Harris's house coming up, lets hope they work really hard to get a well cast family in. Actually the Harris' were reasonably well put together, just given absolutely awful opening storylines and they've made Tommy the sort of bloke to avoid in the pub, Les is gobby, Tommy is down right nasty and unpredictable.

I think Adam Rickett has said all along since her came back to the show last September that he only wanted to be in the show for a set period of time, so im not suprised he is going.

The Harris family havent worked well IMO, since their initial storyline and then the seige last Easter nothing much has happened, apart from the Katy/Martin affair. SO them leaving will be no great loss, they are not a patch on the McDonalds, as someone else said. Steve, Liz and Andy were all great characters but yes it took a while for them to become popular after joining.
I wonder why they havent axed Katy? She is by far the worst of the Harris family.

Harry and Bev are OK characters, but again they will be no great loss. Bev has become a bit annoying what with all this lusting after that builder, and Harry has never done anything.

Other characters who need to go include Kevin Webster, Charlie, Todd, Maria.

Nice to see Corrie announcerless and ECPless last night. Was it an extended version of the credits too?

Yes there were a few extra seconds - either down to more cast than normal, or scenes running short perhaps?

There was an unusual itv1 screen with some bizarre music for a couple of seconds after this and then they went to a trailer, too.

Yes i also noticed that!

Me thinks the ecp machine broke down and had a follow up effect of that itv logo being shown, before some black, then the promotion turned up!

I noticed, I think it was on last Sunday's episode, that it was mentioned several times about Rita's name in the paper about being due in court, and it was on "Page 10" but it was clearly a right hand page shown. Perhaps the Gazzette doesn't have a front page.

I don't you if any of you read soaps-r-us.com for episode summaries for Corrie, but I'm the feature writer.
