So, what do you think An Audience with Coronation Street will be like? I'm looking forward to the Johnny Briggs tribute, hearing Richard Fleeshman sing (he is quite a good singer, isn't he? Embarassed ), but it certainly will be odd to hear Wendi Peters sing a Judy Garland song...

I think it will be half good singing/good performance, half a bit dodgy

I expect Richard Fleeshman's popularity on Soapstar Superstar was the one and only reason why they've commissioned this 'An audience with...'

Of course there will be at least one EastEnders loving forum member who will say it is rubbish and make negative comments throughout

What I want to know is will Barbara turn up! As some of you might know im a fan of her's and she hardly ever goes to these things these days

It would be nice if Barbara was there, we've seen a few stars so far. Hopefully she's somewhere in the audience!

Well I didnt spot the big red wig anywhere Very Happy !

Anyway I really enjoyed the show- the best part was the look around the set, and the tribute to Johnny Briggs. I also liked it that all the cast took turns at presenting. I feel it was a well put together and entertaining programme.

I thought it was good, especially the behind the scenes bits and Ken wearing those huge Deidrie specs. Wendi Peters is a good performer really, but didn't think much to Beverley Callard.

Don't think Bradley Walsh and Debra Stephenson were there, they'd have been good doing a number together.

Apart from the behind-the-scenes look at the set, I thought it was dreadful ! The singing numbers (especially Wonderful World) were like bad karaoke - even the undoubtedly talented Fleeshman didn't sing well. Hmmm. Disappointing.

Obviously Roxanne 'Emmerdale' Pallett was going to turn up Rolling Eyes - if she's still supposedly dating Richard Fleeshman.

I noticed Wendi Peters was clearly miming - not sure if the others were but I could definately tell she was!

Anyway, all in all, it wasn't that bad. Great to see the behind the scenes and Johnny Briggs's tribute. Nice of Amanda Barrie to pop by as well.

Its a shame we don't see more of other Corrie veterans such as Eileen Derbyshire, Maggie Jones, and, as mentioned, Barbara Knox that much in real life.

Yes I thought it was stupid of Roxanne Pallett to turn up - Its supposed to be true fans of the show asking questions not just because their boyfriend is in it Rolling Eyes

I didnt think much of either Wendi Peters and Bev Callard. The girl who plays Fizz cant sing either but she did her best. The best performance was Richard Fleeshman but I also thought the girl who plays Kelly was very good (no doubt people wont agree!).

Well there is no chance of Eileen Derbyshire going to these things - I dont think we have ever seen her make public appearances or give interviews, not ever. Barbara used to - last time was the soap awards in 2004 but only because she was give that lifetime award so she made a speech and did a backstage interview. Last time before that was a This Morning interview in March 1999! No idea about Maggie Jones but she has attended awards shows a few times and does give interviews in those Corrie family album things on occasions.

Yes Bradley Walsh wasnt there, dont think Debra Stephenson was there either. I think if there were there they would have been involved somehow.

I found the behind the scenes bit the only saving grace. I wish they would show us inside the actual street buildings as well as the main studios.

the wonderful world song was so bad i turned over and watched 1, 2 and 4 for the few minutes it was on.

It was a bit clumsy in some parts but at the end of the day they are actors not presenters so talking to cameras and reading autocues would be new to them

Laughing I Didn't watch it and judging by the reviews i was right

I saw 5 minutes of it.

That was bad enough.

I do wish they wouldn't do this with Corrie etc.

I feel it cheapens the show & makes you feel you can't take the show seriously, if you see all your 'favourites' trying (trying being the word!)to sing.

At least Vicky Entwhistle didn't do Bjork again.

(But she does looks like Chucky Laughing )

Which Award shows has Maggie attended? because everytime she's been nominated for an award they've stuck her publicity photograph in the frame when a winner is announced. I've never seen her turn up. Confused

Surprised this didn't get posted on here Laughing

Coronation Street makers Granada TV will get 15,000 towards a gym its millionaire stars will be able to use.
They are among 41 wealthy firms handed Lottery cash by Sport England as part of a Government-backed campaign to improve fitness levels of office staff.

Critics said the hand-outs were obscene when genuine good causes often get applications for Lottery aid rejected.

It came as charities sick of the current system revealed they are endorsing a rival lottery next week to ensure cash is fairly distributed.

Tory MP Nigel Evans said: When good causes and charities get turned down for funding, this award ranks as one of the most obscene the Lottery has given.

Its equivalent to a few days pay for the stars"

The Government should ensure that awards from the Lottery only go to organisations which cannot raise the funds for themselves.

The only thing more shocking than being given this Lottery money is that they asked for it in the first place.

Granadas gym will be free to all staff including the top-earning cast of Corrie.

Street veterans are believed to be on around 200,000 per year.

Liberal Democrat MP John Leech said: This money should be aimed at people who cannot afford to go to the gym.

There was also anger from John Clarke, who was refused a grant to take war veterans on a trip to the Monte Cassino battlefield. He got it after a public outcry

Mr Clarke, from Chorlton, Manchester, said: This is a very poor example of how to spend peoples money.

Bill Bond of the Battle of Britain Historical Society, which was turned down for money to build a monument, said: Its hard not to feel a little envious.

Manchester United and Granada TV are hardly needy causes. Its unbelievable.
Halliwells employs 200 legal staff, many earning over 50,000 a year.
The Manchester firm was given the grant on the condition that it is matched with 45,000 of the companys own funds.

Senior Partner Ian Austin said: We are trying to get people to lead a healthier lifestyle, which will be a relief to the health service.

We have office juniors and receptionists. Gym membership is beyond their means.

Granada will also be putting 40,000 of its own money into the new fitness facilities.

Spokeswoman Vicki Matthews said: If we reduce sick days it will be good for the economy.

Surely Granada makes enough money to make a gym with their own money . Rolling Eyes

Same like what the Lottery fund gave 30,000 to Man Utd to keep their staff healthy, that money could of gone to something useful!! Mad

Interesting to see a scene filmed in the harris house on the street set rather than the studio set. (where keith sees craig outside in the garden)

they seem to have built a small rudimentory kitchen in there which i guess is directly behind the front door so there is in effect no front room.

noticed the back door is hung the opposite way round to the internal set Embarassed
