Why did Karl have to share his birthday with mine! When he said my birthday is on monday, the 12th! I went oh s***! Is it true there ahs been a romp scene recorded and when is it going to be shown, so i can get sick and miss a day of school!
Erm, why do you need a day off school if there's a romp scene?
Are you suggesting seeing Karl and Todd in bed together would MAKE you sick? Actually, you could be right...
cant say im a huge fan of Karl but he wasn’t quite so annoying tonight, im glad he isn’t going to chase Todd anymore and will let him come to his own decision.
Why?
I think that's possibly the worst thing that Karl could've done. Spends ages luring Todd into his arms, then as soon as he's got him says "sorry, mister, you've got to do the running now".
I'd have more liking for Karl's character were he more attractive.
But surely it's a good thing he's not 'stunning' after all this is Corrie's first gay character and he just needs to be ordinary - just like the majority of gay men ..
Can't remember which club it was now, actually, but I remember thinking at the time that I'd been in there and I'd have been quids in had all the men been that attractive.
Even the - deeply unstereotypical - violent ex-boyfriend Robbie ('Robbae' as they say in Manchester) was pretty good looking. He might've had enough ink and metal through his skin to be struck by lightening and turn into a fountain pen, but I wouldn't have complained.

I dont think i would like to see two lads "getting it on" even if it is acting! They might enjoy it! I think it might be suitable on the new Gay Channel on sky then on pre-watershed ITV1! If it was on after 9, i think it might be better but whats the chance of that! No- B]im not homophobic![[/B]

So are you happy to see a girl and a boy getting it on? If you are what's the difference in an equal world?

Good point! Just being 13 and seeing that... urragh! But is there one?
Hello, I'm here to stir away from the current subject, and wondering if anyone has noticed how much of a 'White Soap' coronation street is. Apart from, Dev, Maya, Sunita, and cabbie who sometimes appears, everyone else is white. I think it is time coronation street should bring in two new families, a pure black family, and an asian family, it could stir up some things, even start a new racism storyline with a character who we would least expect to be a racist. It would definitley reflect the multi-clultural society we live in today.
NOTE: Maybe the families should move in a year apart so they have time to get rid of rubbish characters, I mean why get rid of curly? When you get rid of Sally Webster, Oh How I hate her!!!!!

Well if you are 13 and were thinking you may be gay, then it would be the best thing ever to see 2 normal, everyday lads on Corrie doing what comes naturally to them - it would certainly of helped me at that age not to have felt so screwed up about it all - just look how mixed up Todd is - thinking that being gay I'd have to act like Mr Humphries (how can John Inman say that character wasn't gay!), Boy George or Larry Grayson. Hopefully, with Corrie doing this story, in what I think so far has been a very tasteful way, more people may see that gay people aren't all screaming camp queens, freaks or child molestors - maybe it will help, just a little bit, to make things more equal.
Anyway, nothing can be worse than seeing Dev and Deidre in bed a couple of years ago

Well done for steering in another direction (said only after I'd added my tuppence worth!).
I agree with your sentiments, but I think the characters should be introduced gradually, if only to avoid the "Black familly to join Street in new racism plot" type headlines. It'd be best to introduce them as families getting on with normal (well "soap normal") lives, like Dev and Sunita do. A racism story could come along later. I like your idea of having a character you'd least expect to be racist - who though? Ashley? Emily? Vera - in an old fashioned "doesn't know better" type of way?
I'd like to see the black cabbie more too - he should get together with Eileen, then perhaps introduce his parents, sister and granny into it or something. I'd definately like to see more of the guy Tracey brought home the other day (sorry harking back to my last posting!!) - and Boris in the butchers (but he's white I suppose!).
Anyway, Sally; hmmmmmm. At least they've made her interesting! It just needs Harry Hill to pop in and slap her occasionally (not that I condone hitting women - or anyone else for that matter!) - but you know what I mean!
