Long lost son? He isnt supposed to have any children! That would be yet more inventing relatives like they did with the Baldwins.
But do we know that he was telling the truth? After all, he claimed to be Alma's cousin to start with - something which was never verified.
True but the fact they have to bring up the Richard Hillman storyline at all makes them look desperate for ratings when they are doing fine as they are at the moment.

Mike returned to the street looking frail in a taxi accompanied by Jamie. The taxi passed Deirdre, Ken and Audrey who later became shocked at how distant Mike had become. Mike then failed to recognise Penny and kept asking for Alma, leaving Penny distraught.
Claire started preparing for Josh's birthday. Oh and Roy had a drink in the Rovers with a lonely Eileen - but I think that was added to fill time.
Tonight's episode was very good - Johnny Briggs is 70? I didn't know that!
Off topic, I know - but why was that great big Newton & Ridley lorry parked on Rosamund Street? I thought that with the large picture of the street on the side of one of the Granada towerblocks that there was no need to obscure the viaduct. Perhaps it's the choice of the director, or something.
maybe it was there to show that the rovers does have a beer delivery once very 40 odd years despite the fact there is no external cellar door in the pavement like on most pubs.
good scenes with mike though, especially when he could not get out of the taxi and was looking across the road wondering where the factory was, i was expecting him to ask why he was being taken in to curley's house
