You know, I've avoided this programme for quite a while now and feel a lot better being without it. But tonight I looked in to see what Sally is doing on the Moors at 90 miles per hour. Two observations of incredibility then. One, Kevin was supposed to be right behind them.
So why, in part one, did he not appear as soon as Sally brought the vehicle to a halt? and two, Kelly and her new found friend were in the Rovers chatting then we are shown the next scene in Roys Rolls where they continue their conversation. Has the producer given up on getting the continuity right then nowdays?

Given that Sally had left an hour before (according to Craig) it would've been even more implausable if Kevin had been behind them at the rate Sally was driving. There were plenty of shots of the car without Kevin following immediately behind. I don't think Kevin was supposed to mean, "Right behind" literally. Rolling Eyes

I thought they were in the cafe all along, but I'm not 100% certain.

Perhaps you should go on avoiding Corrie if you're going to pick faults like that.

The build-up to Sally going off the rails has been evident over the past couple of years or so, she's got steadily more irrational and I think it's quite a good plot.

Hi all,

I'm doing a 2nd year university research project Coronation Street and the audience relationship with the show. I hope some of you won't mind helping me out in answering a few questions. It would be extremely appreciated. So these are the questions:

1. Which age group do you belong to?
5-15 ; 16-21 ; 22-35 ; 36-59 ; 60+

2. Please describe your cultural background in a sentence or two.

3. Do you watch Coronation Street regularly?

4. Can you summarise what the programme is about (in a paragraph or two)?

Thank you so much in advance,
Mandi

Mandi, this isn't the place to bring your home work. I certainly don't want to see this long running thread being disrupted by endless questionaires.

Perhaps you could publish your email address so that any interested parties can contact you off the board?

Yes I agree Gavin - ive already given my answers on another forum where the same questions were asked. Maybe other members who want to contribute can do so via PM.

Great episode tonight - and a great trailer that's been running promoting it! And the backdrop was fantastic!

I wonder where they'll go from here - hopefully Sally won't just be OK and the Websters live happily ever after! Perhaps the focus will now shift to her relationship with Sophie!

That was really excellent tonight, Sally is one of my favourite characters and ive loved the direction they have taken the character these past few years.

Yes Kevin didnt mean her was literally behind Sally's car, he was just reassuring Rosie that he was on his way.

The scenes with Emily, Reet and Norris were also good tonight - im also glad they have brought Emily's niece back.

Tonight's two episodes were fantastic!

I really enjoyed all of it - you can tell there's a new producer at the helm: stunning camera angles, effective shots and in general really good episodes. I loved how the storylines progressed and the drama flowed well throughout. They've even toned down the Battersby's which is great.

Has anyone noticed the change in tone/style lately? Last Wednesday and Friday's episodes were classics - big sweeping end shots of the street, clear effort went into it all. Today we had the car stunt that looked very good and well done, plus the drama after it all. Did anyone else like the shot of Martin and Sally staring out to sea? Or the unique shot of Craig in the little alley on the street? Little touches I'm seeing more and more make me really enjoy Coronation Street lately.

Brilliant stuff.

I liked the angle where Sally pulled Rosie into the car and in the background we heard Cilla throwing Les's gear out the window - then it went into the break with both scenes. Clever stuff.

i liked that touch as well, could have rounded it up with mat ramsden watching it all

good episodes last night particularly seeing more into kellys past. considering she suddenly appeared in the factory on her last day when sean took her job and she needed it back they certainly seem to be bringing her character up through the ranks rather than just another nondescript factory worker like sonia was

the batersby story line is good, nice to see the other side of cilla rather than the hard face front she put on

one thing confused me with the websters though, how come sally just left work, saw rosie with craig when they would be in school and took off with her, and at the end of it all sophie is just left to fend for herself.

the ending was interesting with daylight at the websters when outside it was night

I liked the way they ended the first part as well, with Sally driving off the same time as Cilla was throwing Les's clothes from the window.

Some spoilers for the next few weeks (some of these might have been mentioned before?)

Arrow Tracy lies to Charlie that she is pregnant knowing the last thing he wants is a baby. She tells him she will have an 'abortion' but uses this to her advantage as a way to get Amy back living with them.

Arrow Mike returns from Spain in a dreadful state and Danny finally shows genuine concern for his father. He takes him to the doctors where Alzheimers and a stroke are diagnosed. Mike decides to sign the factory over to Danny as he is in no fit state to run it, and although this is what Danny has always wanted he is riddled with guilt about what he has done.

Arrow Sarah and Jason have a row in the Rovers when she catches Jason flirting with Violet. She ends up throwing a pint of beer over Jason. Later Violet lets slip that Jason recently proposed to her

Yes, good idea, Gavin. If you wish to respond to the questionaire, then please PM or e-mail mizb, don't post them in this thread.

That Freda was back this week, you know the deaf women who's a relative of Emily. Do you think she might become a regular character who decides to stay with Emily in her hour of need?
