We do Gavin Wink Ive liked him for ages. Its his personality as well as his looks. The character is brilliant which is why I want him to stay. Give him any amount of money, just keep him in it!

Definately a spark between Danny and sexy Sal tonight - he definately fancies her, he was far nicer to her than he would have been to any of his other workers. It would be so in character for both of them to have have an affair, and that would put Leanne's nose out of joint for sure.

I thought the stuff with Janice was brilliant, the way she turned on them all at the end - yes this was meant to be her exit, but she will be coming back after a short break as the scripts must have been written before she was saved from the axe.

Great to see Penny as well.

I agree that Danny is a great character and well acted - just don't fancy him, that's all!

Good episodes tonight, agreed - a Danny/Sally affair would be great fun. Knickers everywhere.

I'm sure the bit when Janice wipes away her tears and smudges her eye makeup is sure to be a Harry Hill moment.

Sally has had affairs lots of times before so this would be very in character for her. And Danny certainly wouldnt think twice about it.

Hadn't spotted the potential Danny / Sally affair. Good idea, though I think there better off going down the "Sally Goes Mad" route. Maybe she could become obsessed with Danny!

I just can't believe they've reinstated Janice - she's been excess baggage since divorcing Les and personally I couldn't wait to see the back of her!

Back to something I ask earlier - any ideas for who should take over the Rovers? Would you like someone from the Street, or perhaps a newcomer to the Street?

I'd absolutely love to see Maureen Lipman's short-lived character [Jez or someone, please remind me of her name] return as landlady. I thought she was wonderful, especially considering she was only brought in at the last minute to take over a storyline meant for Bet Lynch's aborted comeback.

Clearly that's not going to happen, much as I'd hope. So I'd like to see someone strong and brassy brought in, and not a victim like Shelley. I can't think of anyone currently on the show who'd fit the bill, so someone new would be my choice.

I agree with that, I believe her name was Lillian ? She was very much in the Annie Walker mould of landladys. She left I believe after barring the regulars (Norris I believe ?) in an attempt to make the Rovers upmarket.

It'd be good to have another character like that as landlady, not some buxom leopard skin heaving cleavage type.

Thanks - you've jogged my memory - Lillian Spencer! I remember her barring Norris for wearing his Commonwealth Games volunteer shell-suit, describing him as being dressed like a 'punk rocker'.

Does anyone remember the name of the hotel she used to claim she ran in Sc unthorpe (or somewhere like that)?

Lillian also banned Rita when she stood up for Norris. I think Lillian first appeared on July 1st 2002. I remember that because it was my 40th.

It was the Xanadu Cocktail bar in the Majestic Hotel Cleethorpes.

A bit of artistic licence applied there. Believe me, there are no 'majestic' hotels in Cleethorpes. Laughing
