we will have to wait three weeks to find out so it should be aired around 13th march
it is confusing when you just see one scene being filmed, last year i saw a scene being filmed from the museum next door to the street set which had ashley, josh and cilla outside the chip shop,
the scene was when the dog is tied up outside the chip shop and eats josh's chips which causes ashely to have an argument with cilla, she lets the dog loose and he gets run over by claire in her bus
they filmed that scene first as they were moving the bus when i started watching.
Ofcom today cleared Corrie of racism after 500 complaints!
MediaGuardian posted:
The media regulator today cleared the use of the term "poor white trash" by an Asian character in Coronation Street, despite receiving complaints from over 500 viewers.
Ofcom said while the term had "obvious racist overtones", its use on the ITV soap was justified by the context and could be used to describe "those from a lower socio-economic group".
More than 500 viewers complained that the term, used by Jayesh, one of the Asian characters, was racist and unacceptable.
Broadcast on January 16, the episode featured struggling single mum Sunita and the problems she had making ends meet with two new-born twins.
Her brother Jayesh suggests going back to live with her parents, saying it would be preferable to living like "poor white trash".
Clearing ITV, Ofcom said it was important that TV dramas were able to reflect modern society and to raise potentially controversial subjects such as race from differing perspectives.
It said the soap had already established that Jayesh was an "unhappy character" and that his views were not "necessarily" representative of any one group.
It added that Sunita's response - "some of my best friends are what you would call poor white trash" - and her subsequent move to eject him from the house, showed that his comments were "unacceptable".
"While the term white trash has obvious racist overtones, it can be used in context to describe those from a low socio-economic group," Ofcom said in a ruling.
"It was clear throughout ... that the programme was not condoning the attitudes displayed by Jayesh ... It is also clear that the programme ... has a right to reflect the fact that some people do hold such attitudes."
I see several people have said they cant axe Tina/Sarah - I say they can. The character has been overused ever since Tina took over. What else can they give her to do? And they could easily write her out without it being too far fetched.
As for Dev and the Corner Shop, well he has several other shops so he could be based at one of those and just have a shop assistant working in the shop, just like when Gordon Clegg owned it for a bit in the mid 70s and first Blanche, then Gail and Tricia worked there.
I saw them filming something outside the salon when I was in the science museum, however I couldnt see it properly due to the trees. I also saw the pig in Keith's garden, that was before it was seen on screen.
they're pushing the boat out tonight with three location scenes in one episode although i doubt they went all the way to northamptonshire to film fred picking up bev
it would probably cost a bit to transport two cast members, two film crews and van just over 100 miles down the m6 and m1 when they can just as easily find a country road closer to home and plant a grafton underwood sign on the road side
grafton underwood does exist and is about 2 miles away from kettering and as the sign said grafton underwood was 3 miles away she was probably quite near kettering, so why didn't she just walk there instead of standing on an isolated road

Exactly what I thought - it wouldn't have taken long to walk the 3 miles to Grafton Underwood - quicker than Fred could drive there. That sign was definatley "planted" too - it was a very poor version of a real road sign.
bearing in mind it would have taken fred approximatly 2 hours and 49 minutes to travel the 109 miles from coronation street to grafton underwood (according to my route planner) bev looked decidedly relaxed for somebody who had just been standing in one spot for all that time, she didn't even need to visit the loo.
talking of locations how come rita suddenly acquired a car to drive to the retirement home when two weeks back she went shopping with stacey in a taxi
i'd love to know where the residents keep their cars since only rita and the platts have garages, the cars just appear outside their houses when needed, eastenders vehicles do the same thing, why don't they just sit outside the houses like on brookside

You found Coronation Street, Weatherfield on a route planner?
no, i used the street set location in quay street manchester as a starting point and grafton underwood as a finish point so it's not likely to be that accurate
anyway i'm a bit confused about rosie, didn't she go on a week long skiing trip three weeks ago?
Corrie was on the cover of Whats on TV again today, the 3rd time in 5 weeks. TV Quick also had a Corrie cover today but for a different storyline.
i noticed that about Corrie being on location quite a bit last night - its nice to see the characters venture out of Coronation St and Victoria St sometimes! As for Rita she has always had a car but we rarely see it, occasionally she used to mention she was going to the cash and carry but not these days. Her garage door actually changed to a window for a few months in 2004 without explanation and then changed back to a garage door again.
I think Rosie is due back within the next few weeks.
The residents start a campaign to run Ed out of town, with Eileen being the only one standing by him. However it hints at Ed turning his back on the one person who is remaining loyal to him.
Mike returns in March, his condition having deteriorated awfully. Jamie discovers his illness has left him disorientated and confused in Spain, and rushes to help him. Danny takes advantage of Mike's condition to seize control of the business.
Claire tries to keep the peace between Matt Ramsden and Ashley. But her good intentions go wry and tragedy strikes. Ashley is facing losing his wife, his son and his unborn baby. As his options start running out, Ashley considers something he may live to regret.
I'm glad they are finally getting on to doing some decent drama.

She has been overused but I can't see them losing her yet. Most the drama out of the Platts for the forseeable future should come from David instead (though this current drugs storyline is rubbish!).
The best thing they could probably do with the Platts is kill of Gail - that would completly change the family dynamics!
Can't see it mentioned here, but I'm sure most of you have seen the press reports of Mike dying in Ken's arms. Let's just hope he stangles Ken in his final breathes!
