Tonight's episode was decidedly average. I'm growing sick of the size of the cast now and how many feature in each episode - it's just far too large TBH, and too many characters were in tonight's episode.

I would have preferred the following in tonight's episode only:

Emily/Norris
Eileen/Sean
David/Phil/Gail
Tracy/Blanche/Ken/Charlie

Hayley, Roy, Clifford Rolling Eyes, Kelly, her mate and all the others tonight were not necessary and really did reduce the emphasis on the other storylines.

I hope Steve Frost gets his axe out again and completely axes all these crap characters on the Street - in fact, I'm about to devise a list of cast members I think deserve to STAY on the street, that's how many people I think ought to be leaving.

EDIT: pad's AXE List ...

This brings the number leaving (added to those already leaving) up to 23 and the cast down to a more reasonable 40.

To axe: Molly, Eric, Lloyd, Les, Cilla, Chesney, Yana, Claire, Ashley, Kelly, Penny, Vernon, Joanne, Adam, Dev and Tyrone.

I wouldn't miss any of the above. They are taking up valuable airtime IMO.

Tonights episode was good apart from Roy/Hayley and Clifford who is quite possibly the most boring character ever to appear in the show. I quite like the storyline with Kelly and its the only half decent bit of acting she has done since she arrived.

Steve Frost doesnt want to be too abrupt and axe a load at once, he has made a good start with axing Nathan and Diggory though.

Characters who should definately stay are; Rita, Sally, Deirdre, Blanche, Tracey, Ken, Betty, Danny, Frankie, Jamie, Leanne, Charlie, Jason, Maria,Vera, Jack, Audrey, Gail, Bev, Violet, Penny, Kevin, Rosie, Sophie, David, Norris, Steve, Ronnie, Lloyd.

He is supposed to be boring though and is entirely in the character that Roy has.

One person on my axe list would be Sarah Platt. She has been overused so much its time for her to go IMO.

I agree with some on your axe list but not Penny! Carol would be on my to stay list as well but I didnt include her as she appears to have gone now.

It's alright saying these people should be axed, but how would she be written out though without it being far fetched.

There's too many people in soaps living in strange situations because half their family is axed. i.e all the family moves out but one member, the one who the public like, uncharacteristically stays, leaving her family and renting a flat. This used to happen in Brookside quite a lot, and the Craig Harris situation is a close example of this.

You've got to think about the whole structure of the soap! I.e if Dev was axed there would be nobody running the Corner Shop!

There was speculation in the 'Metro' a few weeks ago that the entire Platt family were rumoured to be going. I think it's highly unlikely but I really wouldn't mind seeing the back of them now.

Tina Baker was saying on GMTV this morning Fred, Bev, Shelly & Nathan are all confirmed to be leaving. Plus Mike Baldwin dies very soon and suddenly
he has a stroke
. I think they've handled this alzheimers plot really badly so I'm glad it won't be going on much longer - it's already weighing the show down. Saying that though despite some really crap story-lines I've really got back into the show this past couple of weeks. The Barlow's really irritate me though - Deirdre (Badly acted - she's up there with Dev imo) and Blanche especially.

This morning in Manchester I saw corrie being filmed, it was in ST Anne’s square, and I saw Tracy Barlow, Steve, and his girlfriend Ronnie. There were filming around the designer shops in the city, looked like Ronnie and Tracy were having an argument?

I wonder what scenes it was for??
