With the World Cup schedule now published (to some extent), we should be able to get an idea of how much Corrie will be interupted during the tournament.

I'd expect alot of 10pm shows, and Corrie being squeezed in whereever possible.

Personally, I'd rather have a cliffhanger at the beginning of June and then a complete break - or at least have episodes dropped rather than rescheduled when a match is on - but hey, we know that won't happen.

ITV have evening games on the following dates (in June):

Fri 9 , Sat 10 , Sun 11 (kick off 8pm)

Thu 15 , Fri 16, Sat 17 (on these days they show games at 5pm and 8pm)

Sun 19 (5pm)

Mon 20, Tue 21 (3pm & 8pm)

Following this schedules will be decided closer to transmission for the knock-out stages, with "Alternative schedules" published.

You can bet your bottom dollar itv will use Corrie as rating bait (not that you should need it with it being England)

You can bet that the BBC will do some tacky episode of EastEnders where some comedy cast members go over to Germany to watch it and get involved in all kinds of 'hilarous' antics

replying to andrew's posts, yes it was night when she returned, which is why i was surprised to see the lights on since she left in the day

bearing in mind the rovers has had a tardis interior for the last 45 years and the new houses and flats conveniently acquire another bedroom when necessary i doubt the continuity issues will spoil our enjoyment too much

makes it more fun spotting them too.

I dont mind it being shown at 10pm if there is a sports event - in that instance its understandable why they would move it. I wouldnt like it to be taken off for over a month though.

Really liked the stuff with Charlie and Tracy tonight, bringing out Charlie's evil side once again and for once allowing the viewers to have sympathy with Tracy. They also showed Tracy as being a good mother for once.

I know where this story is heading in the short term, but in the long term it be good to see the issue of child neglect (rather than physical abuse) bought into the storyline - with Charlie's influence over Tracy being the main cause of it (rather than Tracy herself).

Is Kate Ford still leaving?

Ive no idea if Kate Ford is leaving. Originally the press reported she was leaving at the end of 2005, and then it was said she had a 6 month extension and would leave in Mid 2006. Whether she has signed a further contract I dont know, however nothing has ever been confirmed by an official source to say she is leaving AFAIK

Jez I'm surprised you've made no comment on last night's Rita storyline, you made enough fuss beforehand. Did you think it was done well?

I think OTT springs to mind and I do think it was a rushed attempt at giving Rita a big storyline.

It would have been better if Rita walked into the back room while 'Orchids boyfriend' locked the shop door, in my opinion.

I thought she was outstanding last night, a brilliant performance, it was so realistic and I really felt for what Rita was going through, it reminded me so much of one of my favourate Corrie episodes of all time when she confronted Alan and he tried to murder her.

Well she is my favourite actress in Corrie currently and im a big fan of Barbara Knox which is why I make a fuss. Ive written fan mail to her and she finally sent me a personalised signed photo last month after the 4th time of me writing.

I bet you have your own copy of Barbara Mullaney's On The Street Where I Live as well? Laughing

I dont actually - it was released in 1973 as far as I know. Someone has set up a petition (not me but another fan of Barbara Mullaney Knox) for it to be re-released on CD.
