I think sometimes stories are released based on half truth in order to cover up the real storyline like clare's bus crash which was reported as her driving a tram off the viaduct to nowhere and crshing into the rovers.

I remember in the late 80's a big story that the whole street was going to be demolished and rebuilt, as it was only the factory and community centre got redeveloped but the report stated the unlikly senario of the residents celebrating their last drink in the rover whilst the demolition squad were knocking down the corner shop

I wonder if some of these more sensational stories are plants to catch moles in the organisation.

does anybody else remember the suposed story line in 2003 of john lindsey coming out of prision after serving his five year sentence and harrassing deirdre, I heared about that on this morning from the actor who played john lindsay and then it never happened Confused:

Yes, thats why we need to take these reports in the papers with a huge pinch of salt. I was reading through this thread the other day and was amazed at how many storylines were reported that were untrue. Remember they said that Violet would have HIV. Thats just one example.

Yes, that was supposed to be quite big. I remember reading an interview with Tony Wood, and he said the idea had actually come up, but they decided to not to because it isn't an issue driven show. And also when they said Rita was getting stalker, it turned out to be a two minute scene. The most hyped up non-story ever I have to say.

There's a new Corrie promo out.
ITV shamelessly trying to get more young people to watch Corrie on looks alone! (Not that anyone would ever be as shallow as that on here!)

More young girls watching must be a good thing because young girls = kids who text = more votes at the British Soap Awards!

I thought the story of violet having hiv would be implausible as it was stated she would keep it a secret from jason. considering how much medication people with hiv have to take it would have been impossible to her to move into number 11 and take her medication without three people noticing. (ok two people, I doubt jason would have noticed)

onto last nights episode, how old is molly meant to be, surly not old enough to remember barbra woodhouse since she died 17 years ago

Rawwwwzie's crying was terribly annoying tonight, but the scenes at the art exhibition were first class. Vera "crowning" Jack with the full-frontal nude portrait - absolutely brilliant.

"You'll have to pay for that, madam."
"Oh... he will..."

... or words to that effect. Brilliant.

Someone told me that
Roy falls in love... with a man! Weatherfield's take on "Brokeback Mountain"? "I wish I knew how to quit <ahem> roll you", indeed...
but I'm not sure whether it was true or utter nonsense. Hmm.

The storyline with Craig, Rosie and Sally tonight was very well done - Sally Whittaker put in an excellent performance.

The stuff with the Duckworths was a bit stupid in parts but the ending was funny.

Best bit tonight had to be Deirdrie, Blanche, Norris & Roy trying to remember the theme toTony Harts 'Vision On' gallery.

Rather a shame they didn't decide to take the opportunity of the ITV revamp to replace the neutral background on the credits with something relating to the programme.

Its also a shame that for the first time ever Corrie now doesnt have a Granada production endcap Crying or Very sad End of an era.

Indeed they even had something more interesting in this era

There's no need for that generic background when Emmerdale manages to design its own

Those credits were awful, they were so small we couldnt read them properly. The picture of the street did look good though.

It seems only Yorkshire programmes such as Emmerdale and Heartbeat still have proper closing credits.

Yes, rather sad to see that go. The Granada name has now been reduced to the copyright message only.
