I say, chaps, jolly good episode tonight - frightfully amusing seeing Jack do the Full Monty, complete with bad fake tan and hair dye. Classy stuff, eh, chaps?
Am I the only one who likes the Mike losing his marbles storyline, I do feel sorry for him, especially most of his family just want the business and the money, I feel Penny is the only person who genuinely cares for Mike. Could someone tell me what happened in the when Jack wanted to be nude for cash for that werido lady who likes using dead people for art, I missed it!

I like the Mike story, as it has lots of facets to it with many interests - I think he knows what's happening and will be canny enough to change his will now, leaving the lot to Jamie maybe?
Try to catch a repeat of tonight's if you can, I thought Jack doing the nude modelling was a laugh.
What is everyone's high and low points of Corrie 2005?
For me the best storylines/episodes included;
The Sally and Ian affair
Katy killing her dad, Angela covering for her and going to prison, and Katy killing herself
Ray Langton coming back
Ken and Deirdre's wedding
The Danny and Leanne affair
Carol Baldwin's battle with alcoholism
Sarah stealing Jason from Violet (it was a good storyline even if Sarah is a slapper)
And the worst
Shelly and Charlie storyline
Scooter and the fish (what the hell was that?!!)
Gail and Phil
but by far the worst was Cilla and Les's wedding.
Who have been the best new characters of 2005? For me most of the new arrivals have been a huge disappointment. Carol Baldwin is one new character I like. And I liked Zack as well. I cant stand Diggory, Molly, Nathan. Keith has got better as has Adam Barlow.
And of course 2005 saw the departures of several regular characters including Tommy, Katy , Angela, Ciaran, Warren, Candice and Martin and the return of Ray Langton after 27 years and Penny King after a 6 month absence!
Amazing so much happened really!
I agree with you on most of the "best bits", although I got a bit fed up with the Killer Katie story towards the end, all that crying was too much!
Ian and Sally was good yes, as was the start of Shelly and Charlie I thought - but I tired of the storyline as I became frustrated with Shelly not seeing through him, I think the cosmetic surgery part just went a bit too far.
Scooter's fish was dreadful, as was the boxing match and Dev's many children which has to be the most clumsilly executed soap storyline since the days of the original Crossroads! I really dislike the Steve gangster related plots too - far too EastEnders.
It's good that they haven't over relied on Chesney in 2005, there's only so many "ahh ain't he sweet" devices they can use. I'd like to see him become a policeman - that'd wind up Cilla and Les!
I'm pleased to see the back of all those who have left although I think Angela could come back one day, even if just for Jim McDonald size type plots (not that they should have her escape!).
Of the newcomers, Carol is interesting and I'm warming to the character and accepting her, although I'm not 100% keen. I hope we never see Diggory or Molly ever again - can the writers drop in to the script that they've done a "moonlight flit" and shut up shop?!
Crabtree and one of the twins has got better, but I'm still not keen on Craig Charles (whatever his character is called). Leanne works better with Danny, a plot that has re-established the character I think. I don't like Adam, but he is crucial to the Mike plot for now.
Over 2006, I'd like to see Fred marry Bev - but she should pop the question much to his shock for a change! Also, if John does leave the show, maybe he could die in some sort of health related plot (i.e. he's overweight etc) and leave the pub to Bev. I think Susie is a great actor and hope they find a way of keeping her there when Shelly goes.
I'd like to see Shelly leave happilly.
I think Kirk and Fiz should discuss marriage - perhaps after a pregnancy "scare". They must be the up-coming Jack and Vera type characters (as there's no way you can feel for Les and Cilla), and I think post-Molly they should at least move in together.
Stumped for now - anyone any other ideas about their hoped for - or complete mad fantasy - plots for this year :

I also like the Mike story, especially having had two relatives who went senile in the same way. It's also quite an intricate story and rather cleverly written with all the related parties and their relationships. I'm hoping it's a sign that Corrie's back on the up.
By the way, I don't know if I missed a few episodes, but what happened with that posh chef who came in to Roy's Rolls a while back praising the place? Did anything actually happen as a result other than the newspaper article he wrote, or did it turn out to be a bit of inconsequential irrelevance used as padding?

"You mean I've been sitting here symbolic naked". Great line!!
I've just seen last night's episode, ROFL!!
"symbolic naked" I can't stand watching Danny taking advantage of Mike, and whats up with David all of a sudden

For 2006 id like to see Mike and Penny get married, and regardless of what happens with Mike id like Penny to stay in the show and perhaps run underworld. Fred and Bev make a good couple as well so I hope they stay together. I agree about Susie Blake being a great actress, and i hope she takes over the running of the Rovers once Shelly is gone.
Id like to see them concentrate less on Sarah and the platts this year although that seems unlikely! I also hope Jamie and Frankie dont get together, I also dont like Frankie with Nathan either - id quite like to see Danny and Frankie to get back together.
Emily Bishop is getting a storyline (which im looking forward to) so id quite like to see Betty, Blanche and Rita get some sort of storyline. Blanche is great with comedy, but that scene the other night with Deirdre proved she can do serious stuff as well. And it would be nice for Deirdre and Ken to have some sort of storyline this year, I dont want one or the other to have an affair though, now they are married again lets keep it that way.
I also hope the new producer gets rid of Diggory, Molly, Nathan, Crabby and Liz's boyfriend.
David has sadly never recovered from the head transplant he had in 2000 which turned him from a quiet little boy who never said boo to a goose (or anybody come to that) to a loud mouthed little yob who thinks the universe owes him a living.
either that or he's just an average hormonally challenged teenager
saying that the lad who plays him is a brilliant actor, just wish the script writers would make him HAPPY, give him a girl friend for goodness sakes
talking of teenagers the rosie and craig story is a nice change, good to see the teen actors put to good use and exercising their acting talents.
