Before I post my review of the Corrie Christmas episode, can I just complain about ITV starting the episode slightly earlier. I hardly had enough time to change my tape over as I was taping Doctor Who.

Excellent performances from Johnny Briggs especially in the final scene, and when he asked Danny's mum if his dead brother Harry was parking the car that was definately an awkward moment to watch.

Loved Carol making a scene at the Clock. Her bitchy comment to Danny, Leanne and Frankie were brilliant. Shame she hasnt managed to keep off the booze though. Its poor Jamie I feel sorry for, he hasnt done anything wrong yet he is getting it from all directions.

It was nice to see the Webster and Peacock families having a happy family Christmas. Claire waiting to tell Ashley about the baby got a bit boring by the end when she kept being interrupted. Wouldnt have been so bad if we didnt know from the spoilers exactly what her present was. I was worried we would see the Platt's when Audrey and Keith mentioned they are going there for dinner but thankfully we were spared them.

The party games at the Barlows were funny especially Tracy and Blanche. Some great lines from Blanche as usual. The Duckworths were ok. I see 'Our Terry' got his annual mention on Christmas Day.

The stuff with Cilla, Yana and the Turkey was much better than I expected because it was more of a background comedy storyline and Cilla was only in a handful of scenes. Typical of Cilla to just walk away and not care that she had set the chippy on fire!

Overall it was great. Nothing too dramatic for Christmas Day which is what I like to see and the balance between drama and comedy was just right.

rather a quite christmas episode for a change, the whole programme has been a bit quite all year to be honest, maybe they blew their 2005 budget on blowing up dev's shops.

nice scene with the duckworths and vera moaning it was her worse christmas ever, what a short memory she has. Think back 12 years to 1993, I don't think you can get much worse that your son selling your grand son on christmas day.

The best line from yesterday was "Dog Muck!"

Yesterday's episode was a classic Corrie Christmas. Various families enjoying the day in their own ways

I laughed out loud at the dog muck line.

I totally agree. It must be Christmas if we agree, Andrew Shocked Wink

Are the Corrie producers taking backhanders from games manufacturers? We had the Barlows playing Pass The Bomb, the Battersbys playing Twister and Sally mentioned that an aunt had bought the girls Buckaroo!

Shocked If you want the 'mike storyline' you need to tune in to the programme called "Coronation Street" at 7.30pm and 8.30pm, not the "Coronation Street Panto" at 6.30pm Rolling Eyes

I'd suffered enough after 5 minutes. It really was cringe-worthy Rolling Eyes
