According to someone on Digital Spy Forums Violet has appeared in the most episodes this year so far - she is hardly overused so its probabaly down to lots of scenes in the Rovers.

Ive gone back 30 years and made a list of the cast from approximately late 1975.

1. Hilda Ogden
2. Stan Ogden
3. Ken Barlow
4. Albert Tatlock
5. Len Fairclough
6. Annie Walker
7. Bet Lynch
8. Betty Turpin
9. Deirdre Langton
10. Ray Langton
11. Emily Bishop
12. Ernest Bishop
13. Rita Littlewood
14. Mavis Riley
15. Ena Sharples
16. Minnie Caldwell
17. Alf Roberts
18. Blanche Hunt
19. Gail Potter
20. Tricia Hopkins

I know they only had 2 episodes a week back then but still its quite a difference with just 20 regular characters.

I can believe that, although Sean is probably close, what with him working at the factory, so in all those scenes, at the Rovers as well, both with the factory girls and working there, and then in scenes at Eileen's house as well!

I remember in one of the Corrie books, think it was the 40th, they used to give a list of who the top 20 were each year based on the number of episodes they had appeared in - Betty appeared in the most for quite a few years which is probabaly down to Rovers scenes. Mind you, she was obviously a lot younger then!

It would be interesting if they did that again in the next book.

Gail was good tonight, I much prefer her when she isnt drooling all over Phil, Gail force 8 at least tonight surely? I liked Robyn tonight as well, shame she leaves with Martin Pratt, cant we keep her and just get rid of him. Also glad that Scooter has finally gone.

I was looking through WHSmith's yesterday and guess what I saw...? A large box saying "Coronation Street Treasures" on the front! I initially assumed it was a book but the set 'contains unseen documents and an audio CD', e.g. passport photos, etc. On the front are characters like Vera, Jack, Ken, Deirdre and some of the older ones like Elsie, Bet, Ena etc. Interestingly, Daran Little is not credited on the back, its another guy (Tim something or other).

I saw it at WHSmith as well, it was on offer, reduced to £25 from £30. You can save even more if you get it from amazon as its £21 on there. Im definately getting this for Christmas.

That was a nice late twist to the ending of Corrie. I hated the Candice character, but I did feel sorry for her when she thought she had been let down - and shed a tear for Audrey being so nice inviting her back. Confused Shocked Wink

Well I assumed she had been let down again....and that the fax was a wind-up. The "twist" was that apparently it was true. Shocked

Yes it was a good twist. A better exit than I expected for Candice. Cant say i will miss her though.

I liked the scenes with Ronnie, Steve and Jimmy tonight.
