ZOE TO TAKE OVER ROVERS
IT'S only been three days since Sally Lindsay said she was quitting Corrie... But we already know who is being lined up to replace her as The Rovers' landlady!

TV Land can exclusively reveal that Coronation Street bosses are in advanced talks with Footballers' Wives star Zoe Lucker, and should have her signing on the dotted line within weeks. Yay!

Zoe's character will arrive in Weatherfield with her adoring husband (as yet uncast) who is 15 years her senior.

She thinks that part and parcel of being a pub landlady is to flirt outrageously with all the male customers - and sometimes takes things a bit too far.

But her long-suffering hubby always forgives her dalliances. At least, he has done so far...

Our man with his ear to the cobbles says: "Bosses have been working on getting Zoe for weeks and everyone's really excited about the prospect of her joining the show.

"It'll take someone special to replace Shelley but the character they've lined up for Zoe is a classic Corrie landlady - bound to be a winner with viewers. She's perfect."

It sounds like producers have her in mind as the new Bet Lynch. Clearly time will tell, but potentially she could be quite good in the part. I think the Rovers is long overdue a real brassy landlady.

I think she could be quite good in this part as well and she was good in Footballers Wives, and im glad Shelly is going (never really liked her)

'Zoe in Corrie' claims denied
By Andrew Baldwin, The Huddersfield Daily Examiner

BOSSES of Coronation Street today denied reports that Zoe Lucker is joining the cast. She was claimed to be lined up as the new Rovers landlady. But a programme spokeswoman said: "It is absolutely not true. There are no plans."

Huddersfield girl Zoe made her name as bitchy Tanya Turner in Footballers' Wives. She is presently filming her final episodes. She has been in Coronation Street before - in 1996 when she played Raquel's beauty parlour boss."

Well, he does have relatives on the street - so perhaps he's in the know!

Talking Baldwin, read an article on Teletext today that Mike Baldwin isn't quitting and won't be killed off next year. He's just scaled back and he's happy with his workload now that Bradley Walsh has been bought in to do most of the factory scenes.

I must say I'm rather fed up of the factory - wouldn't be a bad idea to have it close down and turn into something else!

I don't know I thought today's scenes were good with lippy's picket line organised by hayles. The way they all shouted scab at Sally turned up for work.
It's debateable who's more common lately, Janice or Cilla!

Not as good as the strike they had when it was the old factory though, like so many storylines they repeat they are never as good the 2nd time around.

Gail and Phil are so boring as well.

hello from a new member

nice to see a forum on Coronation Street that discussed the merrits of the programmes not just how hunky Adam Baldwin (or any other male character) is, as is done on other forums.

I also like to discuss the techinal side of making the programme as well

Spotted a slight error on Sundays programme, when danny and frankie are in the cafe frankie tell danny his 'dad' is due back from holiday, yet at that point he dosn't know mike is his dad.

I just watched that scene on the ITV2 replay (I'm off work poorly, by the way), and she didn't say, "your dad", she said, "Mike's due back today. Tell him what you've done to me, your son and his business".

No mention of, "dad" there.

But welcome aboard, Steve.

perhaps they changed it, or I misheared (probably the latter)

thanks for the welcome, I'm still ploughing through the 199 pages of previous posts to get an idea what you all chat about.

I Like dannys quip in last night episode about the darth vader 'i am your father' routine Brookside did a simlar thing with a child character called luke who called his mum's boy friend daddy so his father says no 'luke i am your father' bet they couldn't resist that.

somebody mentioned rita's garage door becoming a window a while back (last year) now it's a roller shutter.

Teletext reported yesterday that Tony Slattery is set to join the cast as the new owner of the Bookies.

And Carol is sticking around - she'll begin working there and eventually get into a relationship with Slattery's character.
