Craig can't do serious acting. He's a comic actor and all smeg and smee to me! Laughing

Talking of the Rovers makeover - would be nice to get a new bar as well. The current one is wearing away!

Talking about getting a new look for the Rovers, are you forgetting the last business premise that got a new look.. the corner shop, which didn't and doesn't look right in my opinion.

The old style with the counter by the door was more natural. Have you noticed there are hardly any scenes in the corner shop lately!

But at least the shop has been revamped a number of times over the last couple of decades.

I guess the reason the pubs in soaps aren't updated that often is they'd have to close down the set for a while, and god forbid, have scenes where characters have their most private conversations in their own homes!

I'm sure Corrie could get by with just the Weatherfield Arms for a couple of weeks though!

As for who'll take over behind the bar - I still think bringing in newcomers would be good for the show, but out of the existing cast, I think Frankie could be brilliant! I just hope it's not Liz!

The dated looking Rovers is completely natural and should not be changed. Have you ever been in a dingy backstreet pub? They all look like that!. My parents local pub kept the same decor for 30 years!

Ewwww.

But in essence, you are quite right. Pubs stay much the same for years and years. It's only forum kids who aren't old enough to go into one who want changes every couple of months!

20 years is hardly a couple of months! I go in to many back street boozers and unless they have tiles (as many old Birmingham pubs do) all look as though they've at least been painted at some point in the past 20 years! Wallpaper like that would be in a very, very bad state with all the nicotene etc, so really speaking it's not all that realistic not to have done something with it. In the 20 years before the fire the wallpaper changed several times - indeed didn't Bet have a fling with one of the decorators in the early 80's revamp?

Woof. Under all that unruly hair Jamie turns out to be a good looking lad.

Talking of revamps, have they made more changes to the corner shop - it looked very red tonight!

There was 4 sets of wallpaper before the fire. First we had this darkish green coloured paper, then in 1973 it was changed to a horrible yellow/orange colour, in 1977 it was changed again to a brown colour with a pattern on it, then finally around 1984 it was changed to a cream ish colour which was really plain. This lasted until the June 1986 fire. I do think a new set of wallpaper would be nice but they shouldnt make any other changes to the set. The biggest change to the Rovers took place after the Fire when they knocked the 3 bars into 1 big bar (it used to be the Public Bar, the snug and the select which was like a function room), they also had the stairs facing the other way before the fire.

I agree about Jamie, far better looking with shorter hair, not as nice as Adam though.

There is no way Janice can claim unfair dismissal after the way she has behaved in recent weeks she deserved to be sacked.

Jamie does look better, also nice to see Vera again tonight.

Regarding these set changes, I think the exterior of Diggory's bakery looks very nice indeed. Mmm.

For a few minutes tonight I could of sworn the vicar in tonights episode was Bob Holness

I thought exactly the same! Probably some relation maybe??

It was Tim Preece who played Tom, Reggie Perrin's son in law, who made the awful wine.

I noticed him with short hair on Avenue Of The Stars looking much more attractive. Clearly the Worzel Gummidge look does nothing for anyone.
