Not keen on this new storyline with the gangster's moll.
Everything, from her 1940s vamp hairdo and beauty spot, to her equally one-dimentional gangster boyfriend is just so jarring with the rest of the programme.
Even in soap land, it is highly improbable that Lloyd would allow his newly bought share in the business get dragged into this life threatening feud.
This story just seems too contrived (and I'm aware of the irony of saying that in a soap opera discussion thread).

I think its tommorow on ITV2 - it was a great episode last night.
I've never understood the logic of the ITV2 daytime repeats. If you miss a Friday ITV1 episode, the chances are you'll want to catch up before Sunday's ITV1 episode, but instead you have to wait til Monday on ITV2.
In other news, it's been reported today that Adam Rickitt is on a shortlist of potential Conservative parliamentary candidates. Sounds like another good reason not to vote for them IMO. Sun article.
And finally, I spotted Jennie McAlpine (Fizz) and Anthony Cotton (Sean), each out with male 'friends', last night in the audience of 'The League Of Gentlemen Are Behind You' at the Manchester Apollo.

Oh, y' never know, he might surprise us all, and actually be good at politics! It'd make a change for him to be good at
something at least. Eitherway, he couldn't be any worse as a potential MP, than he was as a soap actor or pop star!
Although there's more chance of seeing Lord Lucan riding past on Shergar than seeing him entering No.10!

Its the only way they can do it because of the way the episodes are scheduled on ITV (i.e. not Monday-Friday). So they show Friday's on Monday, Sunday's on Tuesday, Monday's first episode on Wednesday etc. You could always watch the omnibus on Saturday or Sunday to catch up at the weekends.

Teletext is reporting that Sally Lyndsay (Shelly) had quit and will leave the show in June 2006. Im glad she is going to be honest and I wont miss her. And I hope Bev takes over running the Rovers.
So leaving the show we now have

Personally I hope this opens up the possibility of bringing in a new family to takeover the Rovers, with Fred finally selling up and the pub getting a much needed makeover - with more than one item on the menu!

I like Shelly (post-Charlie anyway) so will be sorry to see her go. Next year will be 20 years since the Rovers was decorated so it's about time it had some new wallpaper?! Even the grottiest of pubs I know have had a lick of paint at the very least in the last 20 years!

I liked the storyline with Deirdre and her smoking tonight as well.
I think I'm just bored of storylines with Steve in - he's been so much in focus for the past couple of years they should rest him for a while. I like Steve, but this is a storyline that isn't needed I think.
I'm really growing to dislike Craig Charles - he only ever plays himself. I gave him the benefit of the doubt at first and thought he'd be ok, but I don't think he works somehow.
