Surely it's Alf?

The Baldwin meal was good last night, and the fighting between Jack and Vera brilliant. Getting back on track, I think.

Another bit that was good was when Norris and Mrs Bishop had to travel in Dev's car, and his mobile phone rang!

I enjoyed that. And I enjoyed the scenes with Freda and Norris as well.

Yes I think its been back on track this past week. They need to make sure they maintain the standard though and dont go down the route of crap storylines. The sooner Charlie and Shelly are over the better though. And they need to get rid of Keith, Diggory, the twins, Kelly and Nathan. I like Freda and Lloyd though.

Did anyone get the free DVD that was available from Woolworths today? The coupon was in the Sun newspaper. It was the episode where Alan Bradley got killed by a tram in Blackpool, originally shown in 1989. I got it as my existing copy of this episode is over 10 years old and no longer in good quality ive watched it that many times. Mind you I expect they will put this episode on the 80s DVD set.

The DVD has clapping over the closing titles. Was this the original end credits for the episode?

"You want me to sit... on a saddle?"

"I was hoping you'd... wear it."

Tonight's episode made me choke with laughter - I almost had a terrible accident with my Evian. Brilliant!

No, the original end credits had the Corrie theme as usual. The clapping must have been added just for this DVD. However the DVD did have the 1989 Granada Television production for ITV endcap Smile

It looks like we have seen the last of both Bob and Tim after tonights episodes.

Tim's exit was rather weak - one 30 second scene and then Sean sends him a text message saying its over. A ruined opportunity there of having a gay couple in the show. They've just turned Tim into another Karl Rolling Eyes Tim was gorgeous though so I hope he returns.

I liked the scenes with Emily, Norris and Freda in the 2nd episode.

I enjoyed both episodes tonight, it was back on track. I particularly liked the way the 2nd episode was set in the early hours of the morning.

The bit where Charlie said something like "there's only so much you can do with a sow's ear" was really nasty - although I'm looking forward to Shelly's realisation over all this. I'm sure I heard they've filmed the wedding now?

I agree with Jez on who should get the boot though.

I'm pleased to see the deaf actress as Freda using some BSL too - I've always thought there was room for a deaf character; the "soaps" in See Hear and Vee-TV showed how deaf actors/characters can be used as regular characters.

It's probably a rights issue over the music used, this is common when BBC Sitcom DVD's are given free with Newspapers, either it being cheaper or as I said a rights issue over the music.

Tonights second episode was fantastic and I can see that we're moving on now with the Charlie and Shelly storyline. I'm enjoying seeing Emily involved a little bit more and I welcome the new deaf character as its a welcome change to the show, I also like the way she said 'I will tell you that somebody is going to be unfaithful tonight, but my lips are sealed,' which was clever writing. I also agree that if that was the last we see of Tim it wasn't done very well but I do hope he returns.

I absolutely loved this:

Bob: Can't we go back to how it was before?

Bev: What - with her seeing you as Mr Reliable, and you seeing her as My Little Pony?

Also excellent, I agree, were the scenes involving Norris, Emily and Freda.

I laughed out loud at that one. I like it when Coronation Street has subtle comedy like this, but for the past few weeks they've had a few moments which don't really fit in at all. Great episodes. Very Happy

It all seemed very rushed. And it was stupid that most of this storyline took place off screen. Still him and Sean are better gay characters than Todd and Karl were.

I was shocked to see that Whats on TV has a Coronation Street cover this week, and not just that but a small picture of Rita on the cover! Im going to have to buy it this week for the Rita article. Has anyone else noticed that TV Quick appear to be using the same listings format as TV Choice do now. Infact the magazine looks smaller as well.

I agree with the comments about Bev. She works well with Liz and im glad they are writing better for her this time around.
