Why does no-one on the street ever mention Richard Hillman now? OK, I accept the storyline is over, but wouldn't you think the odd reference to his atrocities would be made - especially in the Platt household? Why hasn't Nick or Audrey accused Gail of being bitter because Richard betrayed her, or overprotective because of what happened? It's like he never existed!

Obviously the storyliners want to move things on and not be accused of milking it, but in reality you would expect a reference or two to Dick in context.

I suppose it wouldnt be very tactful of Audrey and Nick to keep on mentioning Richard all the time.

Apparently the News of the World is now reporting that the Harris family havent been axed afterall.

If this is true im not sure this is such good news, IMO the Harris family arent working very well, infact first to go should be the annoying Katy.

Why are they making Ciaran the landlord of the Rovers ? How is he going to replace Shelley, is she going to get the sacK ?

The Rovers only had 2 landladies for years, Annie Walker and then Bet Lynch / Gilroy, since she left loads of them have come and gone.

Here's a challenge for a Corrie fan, name all the Corrie Landlords and Landladies in the history of the show.

Do you mean from 1960, or from 1902 has seen in Darren Little's book of fictional history.

Anyway, from 1960, didn't it go,

Jack Walker,
Annie Walker,
Billy Walker,
Bet Lynch,
Alec Gilroy,
Jack and Vera Duckworth,
Alec Gillroy,
Denese (sp) Barnes,
Fred Elliot.

I think I've missed a few here and there.

Didn't Liz McDonald ever make landlady ? Also there was some old bloke with a moustache I remember taking over after the Duckworths I think, although he didn't last long. Then of course there was Lillian's short term tenancy (Maureen Lipman).

Liz was a temporary manager of the Rovers while Bet went on holiday in 1993

The boss at the Brewery was impressed with her work and she got given her own pub, called “The Queen’s” however after Jim punched the bloke from the Brewery after accusing him of fancying Liz, Jim and Liz split up however she eventually went back to Jim and gave up running the Queens and went back to being a barmaid at the Rovers.

I think the people who have held the licence for the Rovers have been

Jack Walker (1660-1970)
Annie Walker (1970-1983)
Billy Walker (1984)
Bet Lynch (1985-1987)
Alec Gilroy (1987-1992)
Bet Lynch Gilroy (1992-1995)
Vera Duckworth (1995-1997?)
Alec Gilroy (1997-1998)
Natalie Barnes (1999-2001)
Duggie Ferguson (2001-2002)
Fred Elliott (2002-present)

There have been managers like Liz, Lillian, Shelly, even Betty has been a manager from time to time.

There have been about 35 barmaids at the rovers over the years, anyone know all of them?

I've taken this from www.corrie.net , I think this is in the proper order - it starts from the date the street was built (fictionally of course).

August 1902 - July 1919
James Corbishley

July 1919 - October 1937
George Diggins

October 1937 - June 1970
Jack Walker

July 1970 - May 1984
Annie Walker

May 1984 - December 1984
Billy Walker

January 1985 - May 1987
Elizabeth Theresa Lynch

May 1987 - September 1992
Alexander Gilroy

September 1992 - October 1995
Elizabeth Theresa Gilroy

October 1995 - December 1998
Veronica Duckworth

December 1998 - January 2001
Natalie Felicity Barnes

January 2001 - January 2002
Douglas William Ferguson

January 2002 - April 2002
Evelyn Margaret Elliott

May 2002-May 2002
Lilian Spencer/Frederick Handel Elliot

May 2002 -
Frederick Handel Elliott

LOL Well the only one I missed out was Eve, I didnt realise she had her name over the door. Also Annie was last seen in the show in October 1983 I think, due to ill health they had to write her out quickly so had a few temporary managers until Billy took over in 1984.

As for barmaids, did anyone know that current Street residents Emily Bishop, Gail Platt and Sally Webster all served behind the bar at some point during the series?

Yes, I remember Emily and Sally serving, I can't say I remember Gail... perhaps it slipped out of my mind.

And Jez, I wasn't trying to make out that my list was better, no offence meant.

I'm sure I read somewhere that Fred was making him the new manager of the pub.

Needless to say this is significantly different to being a landlord ...

LOL thats OK, I was just saying my list isnt as accurate as I only put down what I knew from memory from different books ive read etc about Corrie. Very Happy

Sally was a barmaid there after the Rovers re-opened after the fire. She wasnt there for very long though, Betty had retired (AGAIN!) however changed her mind and decided to come back so Sally's hours were cut and so she walked out I think.

Not suprised you cant remember Gail being behind the bar, I read that she was only there for 2 days in 1976, Bet and Betty had a falling out with Annie and Gail helped out until Annie resolved the problems with her staff.
