The Sun actually admitted today that it had over-blown the story, and what happens is not much more than a typical bust-up.

One thing to improve ratings, get rid of staircase shelly. It is just p*ssing me off now. Also the boaring scooter. Craig also drived me up the wall.

I for one have stoped watching coronation street because of all of these bloody stupid, unreal (particularly the Harrises and Scooter) stories.

Then you are not in a position to comment on a show you don't watch anymore.

I've watched less and less of 'Corrie' over the past few months, but Cilla and her getaway scooter on Friday was the final nail in the coffin for me. Rolling Eyes The big story lines are tiresome and the smaller 'comedy' plots are ludicrous and un-funny. Yesterdays 'Mirror' summed the show up perfectly i think -

I do still see bits of it occasionally, I am just waiting for Shelly to leave and Scooter to be put in jail Laughing... then I may consider watching it again.

Unfortunately though, it does not have much time to redeem itself.

The Shelly and Scooter storylines are rubbish but its been a bit hit and miss over the last 2 weeks.

My Corrie 1970s box set arrived today and I cant wait to start watching them tonight. Im looking forward to it far more than current episodes of Corrie.

The butchers fighting is pathetic! Rolling Eyes However Fred had some good lines tonight.

I was bored with tonights episodes.

Is anyone else getting the Corrie 1970s DVD box set? Ive watched some of the episodes and they are superb. Id recommend it to all Corrie fans, the characters are brilliant - Elsie Tanner, Ena Sharples, Ray Langton, Deirdre Langton, Rita Littlewood, Annie Walker, Hilda Ogden etc I look forward to watching the rest of the episodes. And apparently the 1980s box set is being released on 31st October.

Last night's episodes were dodgy, the whole snatched Amy thing was weak - if she was just taken from the yard how did Steve get hold of the passport and clothes?!

I also saw the Cilla scooter accident yesterday (on tape) and it was really, really stupid - they could've got away with the shop lifting bit (but only just) but to take it that far is making the show look more like later episodes of Rentaghost...

How late did you stay up to watch the box set Jez Laughing I'll be getting it soon I hope, once I've paid off my holiday!

I might treat myself to the box set if I get the job I've just applied for. Are there any especially memorable episodes on it?
