It's not on top form, but it's still better than the rest.

Well, tonights first episode was average, apart from the end, but of course didn't manage the save the whole episode. Being the optimistic person I am, I still have high hopes for this Shelly/Charlie storyline and it will be interesting to see how the second episode turns out. Sadly though, I'm thining more Bev shouting and then assuming Charlie hit her and then everyone thinking Charlie hit her and then she goes to her bedroom...again.

The eye make up on Shelly is terrific. Compelling viewing tonight. Charlie seems to be as addicted to their relationship as Shelly is.

This has been a well thought out piece of television; and although I am keen to see the story resolved, it has been played out at the right speed. After all, this kind of unhealthy symbiotic relationship doesn't happen overnight.

Very powerful performances from Bill Ward and Sally Lindsay tonight, Corrie seems to be getting back on track. Yes, the eye make up was indeed realistic and both episodes were very well written and acted out.

I thought the last scene was fantastic, really showed why Charlie is doing what he is - Shelly as a "caged bird" - his ever-grateful plaything. Blaming Bev for it all is a masterstroke - mentally tormenting Bev too - but will Bev fall for it?

Although this did step up a pace tonight, overall I'm not looking forward to this being drawn out too much longer - whether it's more "true to life" or not.

Why hasn't Fred threatened to sack her - she's off work with no sickness note?

Yes, definitely a return to form this evening - especially the final scene with Charley and Bev. The humour to serious ratio seemed a bit more correctly balanced too. I'm rather enjoying Sean's contributions at the moment. I love the mental image of a dog which looks half like Bella Emberg and half like Sinead O' Connor. Inspired!

Just seen the end credits on Monday's episode. Seems they got the actor Keith Duffy and his character Ciaran McCarthy the wrong way round. I really ought to get out more....

Well it was on the front page of the Daily Star, believe it or not, but Digital Spy and BBC News Online are reporting it too.

Just had a look, it says its not permanent so it probably involves Vera going and staying at Frankie's for 2 episodes because she's fed up of Jack going to the bookies all the time !
